Bibb County Board of Education met in a Called Board Session May 20, 2015, at 9:00 a.m. in the Central Office.
The Invocation was given by Mrs. Jones followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by Mrs. Dailey.
Roll Call was conducted by Board President, Mike Oakley:

Mr. McMillan made a motion to go into Executive Session, Personnel. Mrs. Dailey seconded the
motion which passed unanimously.
Mr. Moody made a motion to return to Regular Session. Mr. McMillan seconded the motion which
passed unanimously.
Mrs. Dailey made a motion to amend the agenda and to strike item #10-j from the agenda. Mr.
Moody seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mrs. Jones made a motion to approve the amended agenda. Mr. McMillan seconded the motion which
passed unanimously.
Mr. Moody made a motion to approve a 30 year lease to Chamber of Commerce which sits on Bibb
County Board property. Mr. McMillan seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mr. Moody made a motion to approve the City of Centreville to use leftover bricks from the former Jr.
High building to create entrance signs entering the city. Mrs. Dailey seconded the motion which passed
unanimously.
Mr. McMillan made a motion for student A.G. to re enroll in Bibb County Schools. Mrs. Jones
seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mrs. Dailey made a motion to approve Bid 14/15-04, CNP equipment. Mr. Moody seconded the
motion which passed unanimously.
Mr. McMillan made a motion to approve Strategic Plan. Mrs. Dailey seconded the motion which
passed unanimously.
Mrs. Jones made a motion to approve Policy FILE: IDBDC, Title I Parental Involvement. Mrs. Dailey
seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mrs. Dailey made a motion to approve Policy FILE: GALBJ, Vacation Leave for Personnel. Mr. Moody
seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mrs. Jones made a motion to employ credit/attendance recovery teachers for Bibb County High
School beginning June 1, 2015, at $25 per hour to be paid from ASAP funds; John Simmer, Mechelle
Williamson, Carrie Hetzel, Brett Gilbert, Dwight Caddell & Hayden Wright. Mrs. Dailey seconded the motion
which passed unanimously.
Mrs. Jones made a motion to approve Michael Goldforb to provide MCS, Managing Crisis Safely,
training on June 2 & 3, 2015, at West Blocton Middle School. Payment of $150.00 per day will be made from
IDEA-B funds. Mrs. Dailey seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mr. McMillan made a motion to approve stipend for trainees attending MCS, June 2, & 3, 2015.
Payment will be $50.00 per trainee, not to exceed 8 trainees, will be made from IDEA-B funds. Mr. Moody
seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mrs. Jones made a motion to approve payment to Dr. Coretta Boykin, as professional development
consultant, for August 3-4, 2015. Payment of $3,000 plus expenses will be made from Title I or II funds. Mr.
Moody seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mr. Moody made a motion to approve payment of stipend for kindergarten teachers to attend “Color
Me Healthy” workshop on June 4, 2015. Payment of $50 per participant not using the FLEX option will be
made from Title I or II funds. Mr. McMillan seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mrs. Dailey made a motion to approve payment for Hollie Perdue & Stacie Gulley to provide training,
Fountais Pinnel Tier III Intervention Turn Around, to grade level teachers at Woodstock Elementary
Teachers, July 6, 2015. Payment of $100 each will be paid from Woodstock Elementary general fund. Mr.
Moody seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mrs. Jones made a motion to approve stipend for Woodstock Elementary grade level teachers
attending Fountais Pinnell Tier III intervention Turn Around Training on July 6, 2015. Payment of $50 per
teacher attending will be made from Woodstock Elementary general fund. Mr. McMillan seconded the motion
which passed unanimously.
Mrs. Jones made a motion to approve stipend for Woodstock Elementary teachers attending Special
Education Professional Development on July 7, 2015. Payment of $50 per teacher attending will be made
from Woodstock Elementary Title II funds. Mrs. Dailey seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mrs. Dailey made a motion to approve stipend for Woodstock Elementary teachers attending Grade
Level Professional Development, grades K-4 on July 28, 2015. Payment of $50 per teacher attending will be
made from Woodstock Elementary Title II funds. Mr. McMillan seconded the motion which passed
unanimously.
Mr. McMillan made a motion to approve the use of Youth Clerical Workers, to be paid $8 per hour
from Title I or II funds; Rebecca Green, Monica Goode, Haley Hudson. Mr. Moody seconded the motion which
passed unanimously.
Mr. McMillan made a motion to approve non renewals. Mrs. Jones seconded the motion which passed
unanimously.
Mrs. Dailey made a motion to approve the in-school transfer of Phyllis Johnson from 2nd grade
Teacher to 3rd grade Teacher, Randolph Elementary School. Mrs. Jones seconded the motion which passed
unanimously.
Mr. McMillan made a motion to approve the transfer of Lisa Holdsambeck from 1st grade Teacher,
Randolph Elementary School to 1st grade Teacher, Brent Elementary School. Mr. Moody seconded the motion
which passed unanimously.
Mrs. Jones made a motion to approve the in-school transfer of Bethany Coady, Teacher, Brent
Elementary School, from 1st grade to third grade. Mrs. Dailey seconded the motion which passed
unanimously.
Mr. McMillan made a motion to approve the retirement of Roger Brothers, Teacher Bibb County
Career Academy. Effective June 30, 2015. Mrs. Dailey seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mr. McMillan made a motion to employ the following as Pre K workers for summer 2015:
Randolph Elementary School: Teacher- Donna Perry; Bus Driver/Aide- Charlene Taylor
Brent Elementary School: Teachers- Tiasha Hamilton, Monica Watkins, Sholanda Cutts.
Sub Teachers: Leanna Kornegay, Mechelle Frazier
Bus Driver/Aide- Paula Dailey
West Blocton Elementary School: Teachers- Jeanise Crim, Donna Harmon
Aide – Regina Elam
Woodstock Elementary School: Teachers – Karmen Deerman, Shari Doss, Amy Dunavantb
Aide: Rachel Taylor
District – Kristie Peak – Nurse as needed
Mr. Moody seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mr. Moody made a motion to approve the following as Summer Extended Day Program positions,
West Blocton Elementary:
Teachers: Francis Kornegay, Jessica Taylor, Lynn Nelson
Aides: Cassandra Rutledge, Debra Davis, Courtney Franklin, Lindsey Jespersen, Regina Elam,
Kathy Cargile.
Mrs. Jones seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mrs. Dailey made a motion to employ Lindsay Haynes as Head Volleyball Coach, West Blocton Middle
School. Mr. Moody seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mr. McMillan made a motion to employ Matt Geohagan as Math Teacher, Bibb County High School.
Mrs. Dailey seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mr. McMillan made a motion to approve Tyler Oates to serve as volunteer football coach, Bibb County
High School. Mrs. Jones seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Next Board meeting, June 9, 2015, 5:00 p.m.
Mr. Moody made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:55 a.m. Mr. McMillan seconded the motion
which passed unanimously.
We the undersigned, being all of the Bibb County Board of Education in attendance of the May 20, 2015
Board Meeting, at which time a quorum was present and voting do hereby sign these minutes of the within
and foregoing meeting to things had and done at said meeting.
