ECOAN's mission: Conserving species of plants animals in danger of extinction and threatened ecosystems through direct biodiversity protection and sustainable use of natural resources in partnership with local communities and governments at the local, regional and national Organizational objectives include the following: 1. Promote research on the impacts of unsustainable use of flora and fauna in areas of high global threat and various ECOAN project sites. 2. Disseminate and raise awareness about the importance of protecting and conserving our natural resources. 3. Promote sustainable land use policies and sustainable management of natural forests, working in coordination with local stakeholders to find potential areas of collaboration. 4. Promote opportunities for exchange and debate on the use of natural resources. 5. Implement different conservation strategies that allow stabilization, recovery and increased populations of endangered species; actions are coordinated with local communities and for the benefit of local actors. ECOAN’s work could benefit from a professional in charge of Strategic Relations to help improve coordination and management of this work; and help harmonize the different needs of ECOAN – both internal and external. This job announcement seeks a professional to help the institution to continue to grow and fulfill their different commitments to the different beneficiaries, donors and partners of the institution. “Año de la Diversificación Productiva y del Fortalecimiento de la Educación” Job Description: The Strategic Relations Official, will have the following responsibilities: Help design and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy in collaboration with key ECOAN staff (and partners) in order to diversify and make their funding sources more sustainable. Research and make contact with funding sources, such as foundations, corporations, governments, individuals and other sources. Develop, coordinate and write proposals for conservation activities and short to longterm institutional support. Maintain a database of reporting requirements for partners and donors. Be responsible for monitoring report deadlines and compiling and sending all narrative and financial reports (and other donor/partner required products). Work with various project field coordinators that are managed ECOAN nationwide to coordinate both financial and narrative reports and ensure they are sent to donors in a timely fashion. Manage ongoing relationships and develop new relations with all donors. Support the Project Coordinator. Reporting to CEO and managing different actions as needed. Qualifications and Background: Degree in technical school or college. A successful candidate will have an outgoing personality, be organized, enthusiastic, and demonstrate good attention to detail. Experience Minimum 1-3 years working in areas related to this position (Fundraising, project management, and/or writing). Demonstrated excellent writing skills (preferably reports and proposals in English). Bilingual: strong English and Spanish skills (reading, writing and speaking) Willingness to occasionally travel and stay in potentially remote and uncomfortable project sites.
