On March 27, 2013 Evan was
diagnosed with Kawasaki Disease
(KD) at only 21 months old. KD is an
illness characterized by inflammation
of blood vessels that supply the heart
muscle. His treatment was intravenous
immunoglobulin (IVIG) which is made
of antibodies that have been extracted
from blood donations from nearly
3,000 healthy donors. By donating
today you can help ensure that blood is
available for patients like Evan, whose
lives depend on it.
