Economical publishing support As of 2015 the terms concerning publishing support have been revised regarding articles published during 2015. This change means that high quality articles will receive a higher financial compensation. Articles published in journals/publication series listed and ranked as scientific level 1 in the Danish or the Norwegian publication lists will be awarded a publishing support grant of 35 000 SEK to the department. Articles ranked as level 2 in the Danish or the Norwegian lists, or found in Web of Science, will grant an additional 35 000 SEK in financial compensation. ATTENTION! Deadline for registration i Pure in December has been moved to 1/12! Late articles that year will get economic support during spring the following year. Basis for financial compensation Financial compensation will be obtained for articles written or co-written by staff and PhD students at LTU. The articles must have “the author affiliation” Luleå University of Technology and be published in international, scientific, peer reviewed journals or publication series. Financial compensation will also be obtained for artistic productions produced by staff and PhD students at LTU. Scientific article level 1 – 35 000 SEK To obtain financial compensation, the article must be registered in the publication database PURE as ”research, peer-reviewed”, as well as published in an international, scientific, peer reviewed journal or publication series. The scientific peer reviewed journals and publication series in question are found in the Database för statistikk om högre utdanning (the so-called Norwegian list), in the Autoritetslister for serier (the so-called Danish list), or published in the database Web of Science. To be considered scientific and thereby obtain financial compensation, an article must fulfill the following overall criteria. It must be published in a journal which: is identifiable with an ISSN-number has a scientific editorial board has routines for peer review The Norwegian list, also called the Frida list, can be found via http://dbh.nsd.uib.no/kanaler/ . You can suggest new journals for the Norwegian list by first creating a login on the web site. You can find the Danish list here: http://fivu.dk/forskning-og-innovation/statistik-oganalyser/den-bibliometriske-forskningsindikator/autoritetslister You can read more about each list at their web sites. Scientific article level 2 – an additional 35 000 SEK To obtain financial compensation regarding level 2, the article must fulfill the criteria mentioned above as well as either one or both of the criteria mentioned below: the journal/publication series must be ranked as level 2 in the Danish or the Norwegian list (more information about the lists above) the journal/publication series is published in Web of Science You can search Web of Science in several ways: either through the ordinary search interface, through the so-called Master journal list, or in the Web of Science tool Journal Citation report where you also can see the impact factor of the journal among other things. Artistic production To obtain financial compensation, artistic productions must fulfill the criteria set by FFN during the autumn of 2009. At present, the definition of an artistic production with a high reputation ranking (equivalent to level 2) has yet to be decided. Practical application The basis for grant allocation is that the article, or the artistic production, is registered in our publication database Pure during the present year according to the criteria mentioned above. The ranking of journals and publication series in the Norwegian and the Danish lists might change. Therefore the ranking is taken at the time the article is published in the journal/publication series thereby settling the compensation level, i.e. when the articles are given bibliographical information about number, volume, etc. If there are authors from many departments in an article, the financial compensation will be divided among these departments. Two departments will grant 0,5 each per department. Three departments will grant 0,33 each per department and so on. Financial compensation will be paid three times each year in connection with the tertial and annual closing of the books. If you have any questions regarding the model for economic publishing support, please contact Catrine Lindfors at VSS Finance, catrine.lindfors@ltu.se. The terms concerning financial compensation as a whole can be changed in accordance with changes in the national resource allocation system. Open Access During 2015 LTU is being given a local overhaul in regards to how open access publishing could be financially supported. The library works continuously with the importation and manual registration as well as validation of publications. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact us at bibepubl@ltu.se. Publication team In case of uncertainties, the publication team will investigate whether an article fulfills the above mentioned criteria. A final assessment can, in some cases, be made by the Vice- Chancellor. Regarding artistic productions the assessment is made in consultation with experts within the area in question. The publication team consists of Anders Henriksson, anders.henriksson@ltu.se, Grants Office Catrine Lindfors, catrine.lindfors@ltu.se, VSS Finance Magnus Norberg: magnus.norberg@ltu.se, Library/LRC More information Planeringsförutsättningarna 2015-2016 is the point of departure for the publishing support.
