We are looking for a PA/NP to provide 24/7 in house coverage, along with the surgeon on call, to cover the ER and floors. Shifts are 7a-7p, 7p-7a, with hope for a 7a-3p rounding shift, once fully staffed. There are currently 8 PA/NPs and 10 surgeons,with the T.A.C.S. service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Trauma Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner (PA/NP) is a physician extender that is primarily responsible for the medical management of patients admitted to the Trauma and Acute Care Surgical Service under the supervision of the attending general surgeon. The PA/NP performs his/her functions based on his/her personal experience and professional judgment and: (1) discussion with the physician; (2) knowledge of physician preference; (3) written protocols developed by the Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Service and Munson Medical Center (MMC); (4) written policies of this institution. In addition; the PA/NP will perform, under the supervision of a general surgeon, advanced diagnostic and therapeutic tasks related to the Trauma and Acute Care Surgery patient from the resuscitative phase, in the OR as necessary and throughout the patient’s admission at Munson Medical center.
