Thanks! If you donated a dollar for our combined fourth grade Pot o’ Gold Auction basket, we want you to know how much we appreciate you! Thanks to your generosity, we were able to create two baskets: A Stay-at-Home Movie basket, and a Family “Datenight” Out basket. Perhaps you will be lucky enough to win one of these great prizes! busy with sharing legends, working on biographies, tightening up our understanding of long-division, learning about the National Government Branches, and identifying force. We also met in our Success Squads to make special letters for a very special someone at our school, who recently won an important award. Here is a snapshot of our learning for the last two weeks: - Long division: understanding story problems, solving with 0’s in the quotient, computing one-digit divisor into three-digit dividends, and writing number sentences from pictures. A test is on Friday (3/21) Science- Force, Motion and Kinetic (energy in motion) vs. Potential (stored energy) Energy Reading- Social Studies- Informational: Burning Town and Powerful Women (since March is Women’s - Finished the Legislative (Congress) Branch and moved on to the Judicial History Month) Branch: roles and responsibilities, - Narrative: Finished Out of My Mind by reenact a court case Sharon Draper, Began Lit. Circles with new Writingbooks and groups, and started The Watson’s go to Birmingham (written by a - Finished Michigan legends, began Michigan author) working on biography note cards. WE also did our winter nature walk and Spellingwriting at NCMC. Students wrote - f vs. ph sounds, and silent letters beautiful poems, memories, and connections to nature. - Grammar test A Couple of Reminders… If you were able to make it to conferences, you should have been introduced to my new Weebly site. I am trying to constantly update helpful websites and information for you, so that you can support your fourth grader at home. If you have any suggestions for sites you would like to see, or specific information you would like support with, please let me know in an email.
