Weekly note from the Principal:
As we approach Catholic schools week, MCA focuses on Faith, Knowledge and Service. This is what makes up our Catholic faith. What makes our school different is that it is specifically Catholic! We hope every aspect of our school stems from our
Catholicity. Its so important that we have a “Catholic
Identity”. Mother Catherine academy is more than just a school; it is a deeply invested community. A community of faith and warmth. Our Catholic school strives to form the entire person of each student and help them to grow into the person God has called them to be. MCA challenges the mind and prepares our students to serve in their community.

4 th Grade Mass : Tuesday, February 2 nd at 9:00AM
PTP Meeting: February 2 nd at 6:30PM
The topic of discussion will be Tuition. The Board of
Trustees and finance will be available to answer any questions or concerns.
As part of our celebration of Catholic Schools Week each grade level team will be focusing on a work of mercy. Grades 3-5 will be preparing spiritual bouquet cards for the sick in our school community.
If you have anyone in your family or close friends that you would like us to pray for, please send us their name and address. You can email this information to

Honors Assembly

We will have our honor roll assembly on Friday,
January 29 th at 7:45am.
MCA Volleyball Team
Practice for volleyball will begin on February 8 th
.
This would be for middle school, Only. Practice time: 3:15-4:30. This is in preparation for the
Volleyball Tournament on April 16 th
.
Grades 3-5 will start up in March, after the basketball season. If your child is interested please email the office for an athletic packet by

2016-2017 Tuition Assistance Application for New
Families
Just a reminder, the deadline for new families to apply for Archdiocesan tuition assistance for the
2016 - 2017 school year is Monday, February 22,
2016. Families can obtain the link to the online application by logging onto www.mytads.com.
Student Council : Remember to save your pull tabs from your cans to help support the Ronald McDonald
House.
Cooking Club will begin for all members on January
29 th immediately after school. Payment of $25.00 is due by Monday, January 25 th for those who have note sent in their first payment. Groups and follow on dates will be announced.
Basketball: CHA (Cardinal Hickey Academy) @ MCA starting at 10:00AM

All money from the sale of the cards must be turned in by February 5th.
50’s Sweetheart Dance: Saturday, February 13,
2016 at Bowles Farm from 7:00 – 11:00PM. The cost is $25 per person.
Mark your calendars, put on your 50’s outfit and swing the night away!!!
