BORN LEARNING TRAIL BEING INSTALLED AT EBERLEIN PARK (behind Pick N Save) on MONDAY, AUGUST 10 (would love your help—call Matty or Ed Grys if attending for lunch count) BTBQ FULL SIZE POSTERS AVAILABLE –TAKE AND DISTRIBUTE PLEASE!! TECH-SHIRTS on sale for $15 (if you want one and weren’t at the meeting, let me know—I’ll bring orders on 8/24) BIKE TILES from Nancy Kriewaldt on sale for $10—she’ll make more if we want. (9 of the 20 are already gone!) LEAD REPORTS VOLUNTEERS – GAIL BARTZ & JENNI WAGNER – a VERY comprehensive spreadsheet was distributed, discussed and many open areas were filled in. They will contact Nancy Schultz re: HCE and Strong Bones help, as well as other people who have volunteered. (Gail is anxiously awaiting her first grandchild!) And, the next time you see Gail, ask her about the number of layers of clothing she took off on the Fox River Trail!!! STAGING – DAVE KOELLER Dave, MaryAnn & Terry worked on logistics of banners, downtown chutes, intersections, etc. Will add more information to the sheet he had prepared SAGS & FOOD STATIONS– MARY LEWELLIN & MAXINE WILLIAMS (Maxine is NOT expecting!) Went over previous SAG instructions and clarified changes; added times for rest stops; SAG pick-up & drop off will be in the dug-out (MATTY GET SIGNS MADE!!) MARY/MAXINE – please check if Dairy Cove will have bathrooms open. Portapotty? Continue to look at amount of food, beverages, etc for each station **IS THERE A SPECIFIC LETTER/EMAIL THAT GOES OUT TO GROUPS AT FOOD STATIONS? What to bring, times, what to do, etc who sends this out and when? SIGNS & TRASH CONTAINERS-TOM THOMAS A new and more efficient trash collector will be available at all food stations; will add 1 more recycleable bag for each station. DON’T MISS NEXT MONTH FOR THE GRAND DISPLAY!! More signs have been printed and Tom will add those to the various routes. JERRY – Tom has three additional FOOD STATIONS SIGNS for Cedar Park in Bonduel! Matty and Tom will meet before creating the final ROUTE DESCRIPTION. Discussion followed about painting routes MATTY will add a can of florescent paint for the M & FAMILY FUN routes to high-light the blue and green arrows. The Gresham people will determine their own time and Matty will bring their supplies & instructions to the August 24 meeting. VENDORS – PEG GALLAGHER Peg has contacted the 2 musical group and 6 or 7 vendors She’s identified the area at the park where they set up. She will be sending out a letter with necessary information soon. REGISTRATION & PARK MAP – NANCY SCHULTZ (not present) Is working on volunteers from HCE and Strong Bones groups – will have names by 8/24 MAP of park area distributed and discussed BANNERS – ED GRYS no report PUBLIC RELATIONS – JERRY CZECH – no report CAN WE GET PREMIER AND THE CHAMBER TO RUN EVENT ON THEIR ELECTRONIC SIGNS? GUIDED TOUR – GREG STURM Patti Peterson is creating the guided tour booklet Greg will check with her to see if Mike sent the necessary map Sell additional guided tour booklets for $2 FOOD AT THE PARK – NANCY B-K & LENORE Lenore discussed kitchen needs; numbers and times. (especially at beginning & clean-up) She also agreed to leave her car her while she’s in Europe so we have a way to transport BEANS! NANCY – please make a sign for them: LUNCH SERVED UNTIL 3PM Hopefully the HCE ladies will fill this capacity- or perhaps the Angelica 4-H group Peg Gallagher volunteered to take food out to Laney’s (in Lenore’s car) Opps! Now I spilled the beans! SALES TABLE – DEB LONICK no report Matty created a sales sheet – everyone thought prices were ok – will print more Discussion followed about the stained glass tire rim. It was decided that we should have a raffle: $2 for 1 ticket, $5 for 3, $10 for 7, and $20 for 15 DEB – will you take care of making a sign and organizing the raffle sale please? STAINED GLASS TIRE RIM GRACIOUSLY DONATED BY DIANE HEIKES; VALUED AT $200!! You’ll need to decide if they need to be present to win & if they pick up or we deliver Also, I’ll bring the sales items to the park – will you be able to organize that table?
