Three draft contracts were sent Tony Cortus, County Atty for review. The three draft contracts were 1. Donation agreement, 2. Variation on County agreement with the county hiring the contractor and 3. Variation on the County agreement with Pathways hiring the contractor. Item 9 BORNEARNING TRAlL,-SUPERMARKET PROJECT MATTY MATHISON Discussion: Super market project is an extension of the children's interactive Born Learning trail. Charlies County Market agreed to have this interactive project for children in his grocery store. The project was developed by former teacher Donna Thomas and 6 other educators in the community for children visiting the store. Money came from the Mielke Foundation Conclusions Very good project for children Action Items None Item 10 SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL MATTY MATHISON Discussion All schools in Shawano participated, East Central Planning provided incentives to all students who participated. Conclusions Promote again next year Action: No ne Item 11 2015 Bike the Barn Quilts SUMMARY Matty Mathison Discussion: A detailed report was given by Matty. The ride attracted 176 riders with 80 volunteers. Here is the breakdown as follows: 33 riders from Shawano and 143 outside our area (up from 11% in 2014 to 20% in 2015) 14 from Appleton/Neenah, 12 from Green Bay Average age of rider was about 50 No teens rode except in 5-8 mile fun ride Route popularity: Gresham (37 MILES) had 42 riders, 40-miler had 35 riders, Belle Plain (20 miles) had 31 riders' Guided tour had 13, County M (16 miles) had 8 and family Fun had 9. A total of $5,028.00 was collected from sale of t-shirts, vendors, sales, raffles, memberships and registration fees Conclusions Successful event. Food good, rest stops well-staffed with volunteers Action Items Continue the event next year Item 12 Annual M e e t i n g JerryCzech Discussion: Annual meeting scheduled Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at The Farm Inn on Main, Shawano, WI. Starting 6:00P.M. with a family style dinner. Reviewed press release, agenda for evening. Attendees to receive comprehensive county "BIKE THE BARN QUILT" map of bike trails. Four members have volunteered to bring baskets etc., for door prizes. Menu will include Lemon chicken, smothered pork tenderloin, tossed salad, real mashed potatoes, glazed carrots and dessert Conclusions Matty to work with Nancy S on power point presentation. Purchase a gas card and Pathways will receive a 5% rebate. A motion was made by Matty and seconded by Brad to purchase $500.00 worth of cards and sell them at the annual meeting. Motion carried. Matty reported one parking lot at Mielke Theater has been black topped on HH. Discussed second parking lot on Homewood Ave which is not done. Matty to check with Keith Marquardt re parking lot. Discussed effectiveness of flashing signs for pedestrian right of way notably Green Bay Street. May not be as effective as hoped for. Matty brought up possible grant money from American Transmission Company. ACT has recently given Shawano County $200,000.00 to be used for recreation and parks. New transmission lines have been put through a section of Shawano County. Lenore was asked to talk with Shawano City Administration and set up an appointment with Brian and Brad Holz to discuss information regarding this money and procedure for applying for these grants. Le Lenore talked with Brian the next day by phone. Brian referred Pathways to either Brent Miller, Shawano County Administrator or Keith Marquardt, Director of Parks and Recreation. The County is in charge of the funds and will make the decisions in accordance with the guidelines. Action Items Agenda item for December or January Matty made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
