option.Mark CC and Assoc. deans to work with Assist. Deans of SA and Recruiters
to encourage students register for Bridge courses…follow up with currently
registered students to assure they participate
Laura, Julie and Chris to research issues around registration/over rides, etc., and
report back. Also checking to determine if SSS have ability to enter overrides for
Bridge sections (special topics) or back to back eight week courses for CMSD
students. Need to assure all in EC’s are aware of issues and allow students to
register for appropriate sections
ACCESS
Summer Bridge Courses (English and Math)
Resolved registration pre-requisite issues and discussed logistics of students
completing bridges, being re-accessed, intervention from Counseling and
changing class schedules if necessary.
Counselors will be in Assessment Centers on the last day of class for re-testing to
assist students requiring advising or schedule change info
Suggestion was made to register students for Bridges and next higher level of
math/English in the future. Will wait for results from fall to gain supporting data
Discussed issues around n/a, w/f, and pass/no pass grades and confirmed
support for students finishing Bridge options with Counselors/Student Success
Specialists/Ambassadors assisting if students need to change courses.
Logistics of moving students between classes based upon bridge success seems
to work given small numbers of adjustments to date. Good success so far with
students completing and moving into higher level math/English. Great
coordination between academic and student affairs.
Working with Mary Kay to open N/A reporting window and window to enter
grades for Bridge courses without creating another part of term.
Need to have further discussion about the timing of Bridge courses, support
around end of course testing, grading window and P/NP option for faculty for
future.

Chris leading with Dev. Ed Directors/scheduled for July 1 implementation.
Process: Testing centers will offer three in-person review sessions per day, M-R,
and two on Fridays. Students who are unable to attend an in-person review
session will have the opportunity to read and complete a hardcopy version of
the review module on their own time. Implemented college wide starting in July
for all students
Discussed gitch in COMPASS test scores and personal outreach at each campus
to determine if student is properly registered for the fall. Coordination between
Placement Center Directors and Counseling should take place. Chris to send out
information to all and DSA’s to alert Counseling and ECs about issues/process.
Placement into the lowest levels of math/English seem to be dropping slightly
and shifting toward next highest level courses. Great preliminary data.
The schedule for Placement Test Prep are now:
Metro/Mon. 10am-5pm
East/Tues. 10am-5pm
West – Wed., 10am-5pm

Some designated CMSD NSO’s in August and discussed adding in-person NSO’s if
necessary.
CM code in progress
Additional in-person NSO have been scheduled before the 16 and 14 week term
begins for CMSD seniors. All need to be consistent in messaging so no CMSD
student is being turned away based on no NSO opportunity prior to classes
beginning.
Still seeing a few new CMSD students coming in to register. When no in person
NSO is scheduled, Counseling is handling by meeting one-on-one with student to
get through the process.
