Dear CLA Students, Parents, Guardians and Families,
Please read the following updates and reminders regarding applications and upcoming events. Please notify
us as soon as you and your scholar hear from schools.
Cleveland Municipal School District Enrollment:
On Friday January 31st, Marcyln Saxton, from CMSD will be at CLA to enroll students into CMSD and
be entered into the the CMSD lottery system. To streamline this process, we are scheduling sign up
sessions by crew so please see the back of this letter for your scheduled time. If you need a
different time, please contact me at Cassandra.seiter@citizensleadership.org or 216-229-8185
by Wednesday.
If your scholar has not yet secured their spot for next year please be sure to attend one of these
sessions and enroll your child. You can always withdraw them at a later date. You don’t want to
miss the opportunity to enroll your student in a high performing CMSD school.
Applications: For those scholars applying to schools requiring applications, scholars need to check the
schools website for the application due dates.
Recommendation forms are due to teachers 3 weeks prior to the application deadline.
APPLICATIONS ARE DUE TO MS.SEITER 3 WEEKS PRIOR TO THE APPLICATION DEADLINE.
Once the teacher has completed the form, he or she will turn it into Ms. Seiter. We will send all necessary
documents together in one envelope to the schools.
Financial Aid:
Make sure that you complete the appropriate financial aid applications if you are applying to an
independent or private school.

o School Records (Ms. Seiter will have all transcripts and report cards)
o Proof of Residency
Note- THIS WILL BE THE ONLY DAY THAT CMSD WILL BE CONDUCTING ENROLLMENT AT CLA. After this
day, you can go to any neighborhood school or the Office of Student Assignments to enroll your student.
Students with IEP’s or 504’s would need to contact the Division of Special Education at 216-838-7733.
