I observed in Kristine Daavettila's first grade classroom every Tuesday for 14 weeks. I taught two lessons a day; one for my class requirements at Finlandia and another for extra experience. I took over the responsibility of teaching either the Social Studies or the Math lesson each afternoon. Spring 2010-Present, Department of Natural Resources, Crystal Falls, Mi. I worked as a summer campground worker at 6 campgrounds in Dickinson and Iron County where I cut grass and maintained the campgrounds. I also worked at 3 field offices in Dickinson and Iron County where I was also in charge of cutting grass. Spring 2010, Growing Up WILD, Houghton, Mi. I attended a workshop at the Nara Nature Park. We were supplied with an excellent book filled with ideas for teachers to get their classrooms outside. In groups, we were able to pick a lesson from the book and teach it to the other workshop members. Spring 2010, CLK Elementary School, Calumet, Mi. I observed in Mary Bastian's third grade classroom once a week for three hours. I was able to assist with classroom activities and also teach a few mini-lessons. This lasted 14 weeks. Fall 2008-Spring 2009, Houghton Elementary School, Houghton, Mi. I was a work study student at Houghton Elementary where in the morning hours I was responsible for secretary work. In the afternoons I was an aide for two third grade classrooms and a student gym teacher in which I was responsible for teaching lessons once a week. January 2008- May 2008, Forest Park Elementary School, Crystal Falls, Mi. My senior year of high school, I spent one hour each day working with Mrs. Soderberg's third grade class. I was in charge of working with each student individually to help them with multiplication tables. I was also in charge of creating fun interactive bulletin boards for the classroom. Fall 2007-Winter 2007, Department of Natural Resources-Fish Division, Crystal Falls, Mi. I participated in a Career Co-op class. I worked with the Fish Division for ten hours a week. I entered surveys into the computer, did file work, age and growth of the fish (involves cutting a dried dorsal fin) and mended and cleaning of the nets. Summer 2007, Department of Natural Resources-Fish Division, Crystal Falls, Mi. I volunteered over 30 hours of my time learning about fish and the habitats they live in. I operated and used equipment including palm pilots, depth finders, nets, and boats. I also took part in survey work, including dorsal fin clipping and analysis of whitefish spleens to determine presence of disease. June 2007-September 2007, Baby Sitting, Crystal Falls, Mi. I babysat a six month old baby boy for 13 hours a day, five days a week. Summer 2006-Fall 2008, Crystal Bait, Crystal Falls Mi. I worked at Crystal Bait as a cashier. I also was in charge of serving the bait to the customers. I did the cleaning and the stocking as well. Fall 2005-Fall 2006, Jubilee Foods, Crystal Falls, Mi. I worked as a cashier and often helped to stock shelves. Spring 2005- Winter 2005, Sommers Sausage Shop, Crystal Falls Mi. I worked as a cashier and prepared food. I was also in charge of keeping the shelves full and keeping the shop clean. Accomplishments Volleyball- I was the Captain of the Forest Park Junior Varsity Volleyball team during my Sophomore year. I was a member of the 2007 Forest Park Varsity Volleyball team that competed at the MI State Semi-Finals. I was selected 1st Team All-Conference and 2nd Team All-State in 2007. Education- I was a member of the National Honor Society and remained on the High Honor Role throughout my high school career. I am currently a student at Finlandia University where I have earned a 4.0 GPA my first semester and have managed to keep a high GPA. This accomplishment has earned me a spot on the Dean’s List.
