The Great Fossil Find Poster Instructions
Directions: EACH INDIVIDUAL ON YOUR TEAM MUST CREATE THEIR OWN POSTER (a piece of copy
paper is fine) to show your team’s final interpretation of the fossils, as well as how your interpretation
changed as you gained more information on each day of your “fossil find.” If you disagreed with your
team, this is your chance to show more of your own opinion and creativity! This may be done on the
computer, or done by hand, but either way it better be quality work!
Your poster must include:







The title of your poster should be the name you have given your newly discovered animal
Your final conclusion/interpretation of what animal you think your fossils were
A drawing of what the animal might have looked like
Where the animal might have lived (water, land, air, or a combination) and why you think
this
What you originally thought your animal might be on DAY 1, and the biggest piece of
evidence that caused you to change your interpretation from DAY 1 to DAY 5
What specific new pieces of evidence (such as another fossil from the animal) might
support your hypothesis about these fossils?
What new piece of evidence might prove that your interpretation of these fossils is
inaccurate?
