MOODY GARDENS® BRIGHTENS SEASON WITH FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS
Gulf Coast’s largest holiday lighting event offers wide-range of holiday activities this year
GALVESTON, Texas — Guests will now get to enjoy the Gulf Coast’s largest holiday lighting event
every night beginning November 15 through January 3.
Moody Gardens Festival of Lights returns for the 13th season with even more holiday magic than before.
Start a tradition with more than one million lights, breathtaking views, the area’s only outdoor skating
rink and the thrilling Arctic Ice Slide.
“For more than 10 years, Moody Gardens has provided a safe, fun and welcoming environment for
families to enjoy,” Moody Gardens CEO John Zendt said. “We are proud to be a part of the communities’
holiday tradition.”
On Nov. 15, Santa Claus will parachute in and flip the switch to officially kick off the holiday season on
Galveston Island. Live entertainment including choirs, musicians and dancers will be a part of the
opening day festivities. From there, visitors can walk the trail of more than 100 sound-enhanced light and
animated displays with holiday music. Guests can then grab an inner tube and plunge down the Festival’s
Texas-sized, 100-foot long Arctic Ice Slide.
Food Drive Fridays will also offer the opportunity to enjoy the Festival and get a special discount to help
those in need this holiday season. Bring a non-perishable food item every Friday throughout the Festival
and receive a two-for-one Festival admission. The food will be donated to the Galveston County Food
Bank.

A frosty new addition to the Festival of Lights this year will be the debut of ICE LAND on November 15.

ice creations will transform Moody Gardens into the largest holiday destination in the Southwest. Chilled
