Montgomery College, Office of Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, is seeking a creative, forward-thinking professional to serve as the Articulation Transfer & Academic Services Manager, position #S03837. Normal work schedule is Monday Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Job Summary: This position reviews and evaluates the curriculum for Montgomery College (MC) and various four year institutions to determine course and program equivalencies and to ensure that MC students are able to transfer the maximum number of general education and elective credits into their desired transfer program. Other duties include but are not limited to Review program requirements from each institution and negotiate the transferability of coursework and create transfer incentives. Develop and maintain relationships with articulation directors and faculty from multiple four-year institutions (inside and outside the state of Maryland). Provide college-wide leadership on the development, review, and creation of general and program specific articulation agreements and memoranda of understanding. Evaluate curriculum to determine course and program equivalencies. Prepare articulation agreements for final approval and signature. Facilitate the promotion of articulation agreements to campus community. Maintain existing agreements and develop new ones. Provide oversight of program budgets. Provide managerial direction to a number of professional or administrative employees working in diverse or complex program areas. Coordinate and participate in meetings with representatives from MC, the Universities at Shady Grove and other four-year institutions regarding the development and negotiation of articulation agreements. Conduct recruitment/interviewing and recommend the hiring of employees. Conduct formal and informal coaching and recommend disciplinary action. Evaluate the training needs of staff and coordinate and/or conduct in-house training. Provide guidance and oversight for the Transfer Scholarship Coordinating Committee (TSCC) and the Articulation Review Committee (ARC), identify students and review application materials for local and national scholarship competitions; interact with counselors and instructional faculty regarding transfers. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in a relevant field Five years of progressive experience in teaching and/or working in a higher education environment and collaborating with faculty and staff Thorough knowledge of the methods, procedures and techniques of articulation agreement work, tools and materials used in the field Knowledge Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to supervise and manage a staff Leadership and customer service skills Ability to instruct, train, guide and motivate others Ability to work independently as well as with multiple teams Ability to monitor multiple projects that serve a range of clients Analytical, critical thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong management and interpersonal skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship.
