RESOLUTION NO. 2013 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HALLANDALE BEACH,
FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE UTILIZATION OF THE
SOUTHEAST FLORIDA COOPERATIVE CONTRACT #T36-13 BETWEEN THE CITY OF POMPANO BEACH AND
EAST COAST MULCH FOR FISCAL YEAR 2013-2014,
AS ATTACHED AS EXHIBIT “2” IN THE TOTAL
AMOUNT OF EIGHTY-THREE THOUSAND ($83,000)
DOLLARS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, Pursuant to Chapter 23, Section 23-7(6), Bids and Contracts from
15
other Entities, and Section 23-8, Cooperative Purchasing, the City Manager is
16
authorized to procure all supplies, materials, equipment and services from other
17
governmental units when the best interests of the City would be served; and

WHEREAS, the City is desirous in participating in the South East Florida
20
Cooperative Contract #T-36-13 with East Coast Mulch for the purchase of playground
21
mulch; and

WHEREAS, the City actively participates in coops in order to provide cost
savings and cost avoidances; and

WHEREAS, the City Administration believes it is cost effective and in the best
27
interest of the City to purchase playground mulch through cooperative purchasing from
28
the South East Florida Cooperative Contract #T-36-13 from East Coast Mulch.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HALLANDALE BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. City Manager Authorization.
The Mayor and City Commission

hereby authorize the utilization of the South East Florida Cooperative Contract #T-36-13
35
from East Coast Mulch for the purchase of playground mulch for Fiscal Year 2013-2014,
36
and authorize the City Manager to execute all related documents to effectuate the
37
purchase.

SECTION 2. Effective Date.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its passage and adoption.
