a.
Exhibitors may enter TWO entries per class and must comply with Agricultural Science, Home Economics and
Arts Division General Rules and Regulations (pages 1-3).
b. All exhibits MUST have been grown during the current year by the exhibitor unless specified.
c. Plates will be furnished for all INDIVIDUAL VEGETABLE entries.
d. Because of the nature of this department, last minute substitutions may be made through the department
superintendents up to a maximum of 3 substitutions. However, no additional entries may be made beyond the entry
deadline.
e. All vegetables MUST be labeled as to variety, i.e. Nantes Carrots.
f. Vegetable MUST BE in their natural state, no waxing permitted.
g. Judging of (individual vegetable entries) will be based on optimum marketable quality and size, condition,
uniformity, quantity, labeling and arrangement. Entries must be of show and display quality.
h. *HERBS – 6 stems, 6" long overall – 5” min to 6” max. Tied with a string.
**ONIONS – Dry, not peeled – 2" stem, ½" Root.
i. All entries must be in place on Tuesday by 8:00PM and must remain at the Fair until 8:00pm Sunday.
j. Vegetable exhibits are NOT to be picked up. They will be disposed of at the close of the Fair on Sunday evening
by Fair Personnel.
k. Judging of Group Garden, Garden Novelty, Market Basket & Vegetable Art entries will be based on quality,
condition, quantity, uniformity and labeling. Entry must be of show and display quality.
l. FAMILY GARDEN entries shall consist of at least seven different kinds of vegetables grown by exhibitor during
the current year and exhibited in a box furnished by the exhibitor no larger than 2'x3' long x 4" deep. Number of
individual entries should be same number as in individual classes.
m. The current year Fair Theme is “Explore the Excitement”.
n. Champion awards in individual departments will be made to the EXHIBITOR WINNING THE MOST
POINTS ON THE FOLLOWING POINT SCALE:
1st – 8 points 2nd – 4 points
3rd – 2 points

Best Tray of Vegetables – On a tray, exhibit any 3 types of vegetables, two of each kind (i.e. 2
potatoes, 2 onions, 2 peppers) for a total exhibit of 6 items. Vegetables must be on same variety (i.e.
Nantes Carrots).
