JUNIOR CLEARANCE FOR GRADUATION 2015-2016
For KSAS Students
To ensure you are on track to graduate, you must finalize your declaration of majors and minors and meet with
your faculty advisors before you register for your senior year courses.
This process—Junior Clearance—is step one towards graduation.
If you are graduating in the 2015-2016 academic year, you must complete
the Junior Clearance process by April 3rd.
MARCH 9TH through APRIL 3RD
MONDAY – FRIDAY
8:30 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.
ACADEMIC ADVISING, GARLAND HALL, SUITE 300
Failure to complete Junior Clearance by April 3rd
will prevent registration with the Junior class on April 6th .
If you are graduating AFTER May 2016, you must speak to your assigned academic advisor
in the KSAS Advising Office for separate directions.
TO COMPLETE YOUR JUNIOR CLEARANCE, FOLLOW THESE STEPS.
You will be eligible for a raffle if you complete these steps by March 13th.
1.
CONFIRM THE ACCURACY OF YOUR FULL NAME. Check your ISIS records to confirm your full name is exactly as you want
it to appear on your diploma. If not, submit any changes to the Registrar’s Office. Changes will require official
documentation of your legal name. NOTE: Most students use their full legal name.
2.
CONFIRM ALL MAJORS AND MINORS ARE DECLARED BEFORE MEETING WITH FACULTY ADVISOR(S). Log into ISIS and go to
Registration  “Program of Study” to confirm you have officially declared your majors and minors.
If any major/minor is undeclared, you must complete a declaration form. Forms are available in Academic
Advising or the Registrar’s Office. Submit the completed and signed forms to the Registrar’s Office. Allow three
business days for processing.
For students with majors and minors in Engineering, including the Entrepreneurship & Management and
Marketing & Communication minors, please see additional attached file for directions.
3.
CREATE AND SHARE YOUR DEGREE AUDIT.
∞ Log in to ISIS and under your “Registration” tab find the link to “Degree Audit.”
∞ Create an audit.
∞ Review your audit.
∞ Click on the link above the audit that says “Share Audit” and a “Communicator” window opens up. Your
name appears beside a link to the audit that you created. This shares the audit and is REQUIRED.
4.
Make appointments early with your faculty advisors for each KSAS major and minor with the following
exceptions:
∞ Political Science majors meet with Wes O’Dell.
∞ International Studies majors meet with Sydney Morgan or Wes O’Dell.
5.
When meeting with your faculty advisor for each major and minor, your advisor needs to log into the degree audit
program, not you. During this meeting, make sure your advisor “shares” the audit such that you can see it in
Communicator when you log in later. This is how your advisor is “signing” your audit. This is REQUIRED.
∞ If you need any exceptions entered, please follow the directions of your program to get these entered
onto your audit.
This audit is official documentation of your remaining requirements and any course
exceptions or substitutions your Director of Undergraduate Studies approves.
6. Review, Submit Online, and Print your Application to Graduate:
∞ When your major(s) / minor(s) are correct in ISIS, apply to graduate:
▪ Log in to ISIS
▪ Go to Registration
▪ Go to Program of Study
▪ Click on link “Apply to Graduate”
▪ Complete the application online
▪ Submit the application online
▪ Print a copy of the submitted application
7.
The printed copy of your submitted Application to Graduate must be delivered in person to Academic Advising in
Garland Hall, Suite 300, March 9th – April 3rd.
8.
Complete the short checklist that you are handed at the front desk that verifies completion of all steps. If you have
completed everything required, you may give your Application to Graduate and the checklist to the student at the
front desk.
9.
If everything has been completed correctly, the pre-graduation alert on your ISIS account will be inactivated prior
to the fall registration on April 6th.
To register with the Junior class on April 6th, you must address all other alerts,
including the advisor alerts, on your account.
