Good old fashioned family showing shows, which are open to all no
matter what yours or your horses ability is!
The aim of our shows is to have fun and enjoy the experience at GHF.
Pre entries close – post marked Thursday before the event
Pre-entries £6.00. On the day £8.00
Rosettes to all entrants, refreshments available and photographer on site
throughout the day.
Ring 1. In-Hand Ring 9.00am start (Judges will be announced nearer the
time of show)
Class 1. Turnout and Condition in hand (open to plaited and unplaited)
Class 2. Novice open to any combination that has not been place 1 st before Jan 2014 (After
winning two classes at GHF shows, competitors will not be considered a novice at GHF shows, so
will no longer deemed eligible for this class) (Class to be split between caterogies)
Class 3. Youngstock (1, 2, and 3yr olds)
Class 4. Rare and Foreign breeds (full and part bred, any age)
Class 5. Young / Senior Handler (Class to be split between categories)
Class 6. 1st Year Showing as a Partnership
Class 7. Show horse / pony (any age) (this is open to sports, competition, and show horses)
Class 8. Open horse / pony (any age) (Class to be split between categories)
Class 9. Open cobs (Traditional or show cobs) (Class to be split between categories)
Class 10. ‘The Mini’s’ (Any ‘Mini’ which is under 42 inches)
Class 11. Open Coloured this includes odd coloureds (Class may be split if sufficient entries)
Class 12. The Native Class (Open to Registered and Unregistered)
Class 13. Mixed Heavy /Draft (pure and part bred)
1st and 2nd from classes 1 to 13 to compete for either Junior or senior In-Hand
Championship
Ring 2. Ridden Ring Prompt 9.00am start (Judges will be announced
nearer the time of show)
Class 14 Turnout (open to plaited and unplaited)
Class 15. Lead Rein (Open to riders 12 years and under)
Class 16. ‘Giddyup’ (First year of showing, walk and trot only – any age of rider, no lead reins!)
Class 17. Novice open to any combination that has not been place 1st before Jan 2014 (After
winning two classes at GHF shows, competitors will not be considered a novice at GHF shows, so
will no longer deemed eligible for this class)
Class 18. 4 – 5 Year olds (open to any breed)
Class 19. Family mount horse / pony (may include a small jump and some obstacles)
Class 20. Junior & Senior Ridden (Class to be split between categories)
Class 21. Open cobs (Traditional or show cobs) (Class to be split between categories)
Class 22. Equitation (Class will split between categories and will not be judged on conformation)
Class 23 The Native Class (Open to Registered and Unregistered)
Class 24 Mixed Heavy /Draft (pure and part bred)
Class 25. Show horse / pony (any age) (this is open to sports, competition, and show horses)
Class 26. Open Coloured this includes odd coloureds (Class may be split if sufficient entries)
1st and 2nd from classes 14 to 26 compete for either Junior or senior Ridden
Championship

Please note that classes will start on time and the show organisers will aim to ensure classes do
not clash in order for all entries to be accommodated. Judges lunch breaks will be approx. 30
minutes and will be clearly announced at the time.
Due to the good old fashioned English weather conditions we reserve the right to cancel any show
up to 12 hrs. before the show we will post any such occurrences on the Good Hope Farm shows
Facebook page we will also do our best to contact any pre-entries if anyone is concerned about
the ground conditions or the weather please contact us the evening before. Should we suffer
extreme weather conditions overnight as the show is held on grazing land we reserve the right to
cancel on the day.
Show Rules
1. Good Hope Farm have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of
everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable
precautions to avoid & prevent accidents occurring & must obey the instructions of the
owners/agents whether written or verbal.
2. Good Hope Farm shall not be liable for any claim in respect of damage, loss, injury or accident
to any person, horse or property howsoever caused. It shall be deemed a condition of entry that
each entrant has read and understood these terms and conditions and shall indemnify Good Hope
Farm or any person acting on their behalf against any legal action arising from such an incident.
3. No refunds will be given once classes are entered. Only exception to this is cancellation of show
4. Judges decision is final.
5. Hard hats to current BS EN 1384, PAS 015 or ASTM F1163 must be worn & correctly secured
whilst mounted.
6. All children MUST wear a hard hat with harness if competing in hand
7. All stallions must be kept under control at all times & not handled by anyone under 14 years.
Colts and stallions must display a yellow tail ribbon and colts and stallions over 2 years must be
bitted.
8. Lorries must not be mucked out onto car park.
9. No bicycles or motorcycles, except disabled scooters, anywhere on site.
10. All dogs must be kept on leads and all dog mess cleaned up. For safety please keep dogs to
lorry park only and not near rings.
11. No ball games permitted at any time.
12. No fires or barbeques at any time on the premises.
13. All children under the age of 16 years must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
14. All rubbish/litter to be removed from site or placed in bins provided
15. Classes may be limited to 10 per class.
16. No horse/pony under the age of 4 years to be ridden on the showground.
17. In the event of a rider travelling to the show on their own, details of a contact person should be
left with the secretary in case of an accident.
18 Photographs taken by the official photographer and/or organisers can and will be used for
promoting Good Hope Farm and the photographer for publicity, promotional and on website and
multimedia applications
19. All classes may be ridden in any suitable bridle with the exception of lead rein ponies who
must be ridden in a snaffle bridle with the lead rein attached to the noseband
20. Any person who fails to comply with these terms and conditions will be liable to forfeit their
fees and expulsion from the grounds.
21. Good Hope Farm reserves the right to amend any show rules as and when the need arises.
By entering a class or attending the show you are giving your consent to these rules!
Please Note: - This is a working farm and the owners horses are on site NO ENTRY TO
RESTRICTED AREAS, anyone found in restricted areas will be asked to leave the showground.
