Oregon Family Support Network Regional Director: OFSN is a family-run organization that provides, education, support and advocacy to families or caregivers raising a child with significant mental health disorders. The role of the Regional Director is to develop and oversee the provision of peer support services to families who have children experiencing significant mental or behavioral health challenges or diagnoses. OFSN gives preference to hiring individuals who has the shared lived experience of raising a child(ren) with significant mental and behavioral health challenges. Families who engage with OFSN peer support services typically have involvement in multiple systems; including: Education/Special Education, Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, Primary Care, Child Welfare or Juvenile Justice. OFSN considers a family member anyone who is a biological, adoptive, foster or legal guardian caring for a child with emotional or behavioral disorders. Job Duties: Develop and oversee local programming, training, advocacy opportunities and social activities for families involved in community mental health programs (ie., Wraparound/ICTS teams, Outpatient Services. Demonstrated ability to work with families; empowering family voice, mentoring, skill development and systems navigation. Hire, train and supervise peer support staff to work in one-one peer support services, often in an integrated peer support/clinical setting. Coach family partners around core skill areas, specific to the practice of peer support services, utilizing best practices in family peer support. Work with OFSN Executive Management and program funders to determine annual budgets and contract scope of work. Assure that OFSN policies and procedures are followed as indicated by OFSN Employee Handbook, Fiscal Policy, as wells other operational procedures. Provide staff training and orientation to the organization and peer support practice standards. Qualifications Prefer parent or direct caregiver with experience raising child involved in child serving agencies (i.e. mental health, education, child welfare, juvenile justice, public health, developmental disabilities, etc.). Must have reliable transportation. Prefer individuals with supervisory and budgeting and program development experience. Knowledge of Wrapraround and Children’s System of Care a plus. Knowledge of Oregon’s Child Service system strongly desired Ability to coach and supervise peer support staff on documentation and practice standards. Bilingual, bicultural perspective strongly desired. Highly self-motivated, flexible and able to manage multiple tasks, organized and an excellent team player Essential Duties: Leadership experience in community relations/community service organization. Manage and support 4-5 employees and contractor positions Attend various local/regional mental health or integrated health advisory committee meetings as identified. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Facilitate building personal and professional contacts and coalitions. Ability to respond to changing healthcare environment, using innovative program strategies to achieve better outcomes within an integrated healthcare environment. Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office software, and data entry systems. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when necessary to represent OFSN and to attend community events. Pass criminal background check Other Duties (as funding and program requirements allow): Travel to national conferences and local gatherings in other cities and counties to cultivate family member and professional relationships Travel within the region as required.
