The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Global Experience Fellowship demonstrates the Institute’s commitment to enriching students’ knowledge of the world and enhancing their global competitiveness. The Global Experience Fellowship is designed to:
Increase the number of Rose-Hulman students who can study abroad
Ensure the continuing quality of the international exchange program and
Enhance a Rose-Hulman education with global experience
The Rose-Hulman Fellowship Program provides financial grants for travel and living expenses for
Rose-Hulman students involved in international exchange programs, study abroad, overseas internship, and other global projects. Grants are awarded on a competitive basis for the spring, summer, fall and winter quarters of the academic year.
Each quarter up to three students will receive a grant of $1000 if selected as a Rose-Hulman Global Experience Fellow.
To be eligible to become a Rose-Hulman Global Experience Fellow, a candidate must:
Be in good standing at Rose-Hulman with a GPA of at least 2.8
Participate in a study or internship abroad program during the upcoming academic term
Complete an application including an essay by the specified deadlines
The Global Experience Fellowship will be granted only once to any recipient
A committee comprised of members of faculty and staff will review all Global Experience Fellowship applications. The committee will evaluate applications using the following criteria:
Passion for international study and plans for this specific international experience (as demonstrated by the scholarship essay) —40 pts.
Academic ability and achievement
—30 pts.
Leadership and public service —30 pts.
Selected student fellows agree to comply with program requirements and requests for the duration of the fellowship. Some key requirements are:
Assist the Office of Global Programs in marketing the benefits of the global experience by participating in open houses or similar activities
Write an essay upon the completion of the global experience detailing the benefits of the experience that may be used on the Rose-Hulman website and in print media
Use scholarship funds only for expenses related to the approved global experience

Fellowship Announced: Monday, February 23, 2015
Applicants who do not receive the fellowship may “rollover” their application to the next round should the applicant still be studying or working overseas. The applicants will submit a request stating their interest in having the application “rolled over”.
