REN XIAOMENG COURSE AIMS The course will equip the student with the lexical and syntactic foundations of business, legal and advertising Chinese – in particular, we will study the writing and translation of international business contracts – to enable them to acquire specialist skills in the comprehension and use of this specific language. COURSE CONTENT – – – – – Analysis of the morphological composition of business Chinese. Analysis of the morphological composition of legal Chinese. Analysis of advertising language. Analysis of business contract’s examples. Comprehension and memorisation of the lessons contained in the textbook. REN XIAOMENG COURSE CONTENT The course of practical Chinese language classes consists of eight hours per week, split into: – 2 hours per week of grammar classes with the Italian tutor; – 6 hours per week of conversation with Chinese mother-tongue tutors. LI WEI COURSE AIMS The course will further enhance the skills learned in Year 2, paying particular attention to the relationship between orality and writing. Students will be set assignments designed to develop their ability to form language structures, to read and compose the written lexicon, including current phrases and expressions, to understand and produce difficult written and/or oral texts in standard Chinese, with special emphasis on the specialised languages. Students regularly attending the lectures will be able to stand the third level HSK qualification. COURSE CONTENT – Intermediate-advanced notions for producing and understanding everyday and business discourses. – Intermediate-advanced syntactic structures to comprehend and produce written texts in both the formal and the colloquial registers. – Production and comprehension of texts and dialogues containing the specific terminology of business, trade and commerce and of the political sciences.
