POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Assistant Residential Director
Program: RSS - Group Homes
General Purpose:
Under the direction of the Director of RSS, to supervise the operation of community based
group homes including program direction and conformance to standards required by
CREC, regulatory and other agencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provides overall direction and supervision of the group homes including staff
development and training, weekly house meetings, regular supervisory meetings, and
communication and treatment team meetings for residents.
2. In coordination with the Director, develops operating budgets, monitors expenses and
ensures that all CREC fiscal procedures are followed.
3. Serves as liaison between RSS and various agencies.
4. Oversees development of and measures implementation of required documentation
or procedure manuals required for DMR licensing.
5. Coordinates intake process for prospective residents for the group home program.
6. Researches alternative funding sources, and participates in other organizations to
obtain information that would benefit the growth and development of the group home
program.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
BS/BA in a related field and 3 years experience as a residential manager or equivalent
combination of education and experience. Requires a good working knowledge of
residential treatment for adolescents including different treatment milieus, behavioral
approaches, community resources and a thorough understanding of policies and
procedures related to the provision of residential services. Requires strong supervisory
and leadership skills.
Supervision
Directly supervises 5 people and indirectly supervises 11. May supervise up to 10
additional per diem employees. Responsible assisting in budget development and for
budget administration, for recommending all potential hires and terminations and for
organizing, assigning and reviewing work, disciplining, counseling, training and appraising
performance.
Working Conditions
Normal.
