Directions: Each night choose one activity to
complete using your current list of spelling
words. Once an activity is completed, cross
it off the menu. You may not repeat the same
activity once it has been used.
Synonyms
First write all your words;
then find a synonym for
each word and write it next
to the word:
easy- simple
generous- giving

Rhyming Words
First write each word out
once, then make a rhyming
riddle with the word.

Crazy Fractions
First write each word, then
next to the words write a
fraction describing how
many consonants are in the
word:

Write all your words, then
illustrate a small picture
next to each word:

lined sheet of paper to

Letters to Numbers
First write each spelling
word, then translate each
letter into the number it
represents in the alphabet:

Word Pictures
Use all of your spelling
words to create a picture of
one of your words:
cat- I just got a new cat,
I like him better than my
brother’s new bat.

Small 

First write all your words as
small as you can (so that I
can still read them), then
write them humungous:

Bubble Letters
Write all your words in
either bubble or block
letters:

Write each word out, then
link the first and last letter
with a rainbow; continue
inward:

Mixed in the Middle
First write all your words
normally, then write them
again mixing up the letters
in the middle, but keeping
the first and last letter the
same. See if you can read
them!

Mirror Words
Write each word normally,
then draw a line under it
and “reflect” the word over
the line:

Example:

Write all your words three
times in a row:

UPPER and lower
First write all your words in
upper case, or CAPITAL
letters. Next, write all of
your words in lowercase
letters.
Other Handed
First write all your words
with the hand you usually
write with (your dominant
hand). Then write all your
words with the other hand.
