Expressions of interest are being sought for inclusion onto an Approved List for
Educational Psychology Services from suitably qualified individuals to provide
Associate Educational Psychologist duties.
North Lincolnshire is a unitary authority on the south bank of the Humber. It
comprises both urban and rural areas and is very easily accessible from the
motorway network. Its largest centre of population is Scunthorpe. We have
transformed the shape of our highly valued educational psychology service so as to
secure its continuing success in a changing landscape. There is a core team of
educational psychologists on employment contracts. Capacity is enhanced,
according to need, by Associate Educational Psychologists working to agreed
tenders. We trade our non-statutory services to academies and to post-16 providers.
100% of the academies in our authority have purchased our service as have the 6 th
form college and the FE/HE college. Interest in our traded service is steadily
increasing.
The Approved List will be a source of specialist people with the necessary skills and
expertise to deliver an Educational Psychology service as required. Inclusion onto
the Approved List does not constitute or imply any agreement or guarantee
regarding any quotation opportunities, any contract or any other form of agreement.
The role of the Associate Educational Psychologist is to:

deliver an educational psychology service to children and young
people aged 0 to 19, their families, schools and educational settings
and others who work to support their education and development,
emotional well-being and positive mental health

provide educational psychologist assessment, advice, consultation,
intervention, training/staff development, project and/or research
work as specified by the Principal Educational Psychologist and

deliver the service in line with North Lincolnshire policies,
procedures and working practices, including participation in
supervision arrangements.
The Local Authority will monitor the quality of the Associate Educational
Psychologist’s work through evaluation processes and performance management
arrangements that are in place within the educational psychology team.
