GKN – INTRODUCING GLOBAL SERVICES
With GKN Land Systems offering a wide portfolio of Powertrain components, products and systems, GKN
Powertrain Services (PSS) can provide the after sales services required to support your products.
GKN Powertrain Services (PSS) is a newly focused organisation representing the on-site service activities of
GKN Land Systems and takes advantage of the most advanced service technologies and is committed to
offering customers high-end solutions from its team of skilled service engineers.
Providing services across a variety of heavy industries, including the steel, paper, harbour and water
industries, though this is not an exhaustive list.
Services provided range from simple inspections or logistic services through to advanced condition monitoring
and engineering services. They can be offered on a one-off basis or as part of a long term service contract
configured to customers exact requirements. For example, preventive services focus on maximising
operational uptime while engineering services optimise performance, efficiency and reliability through system
redesign and predictive services continuously monitor the condition of systems. All services are backed by
fast, reliable support, ensuing that customer’s capital equipment is operating at optimal levels through its
lifecycle.









The brand new GKN Powertrain Services Condition Monitoring Cloud is also utilised, enabling engineers to
monitor sensors on customers’ sites from anywhere in the world and act on service requirements quickly. With

The services offered are not limited to GKN components only. All GKN’s PSS service engineers have the
capability to diagnose and rectify faults not only in GKN components, but in entire powertrain systems,
including gearboxes, driveshafts, electric and diesel motors, bearings, rollers pumps and more - using a wide
variety of technologies and the broad experience of a team of highly capably service engineers to achieve this.
At Hannover Messe, GKN PowerTrain Services will be showcasing its powertrain model. The model is used to
demonstrate typical powertrain faults and GKN’s ability to diagnose and correct these faults. The model was
built to represent a typical industrial powertrain system commonly found in industries such as paper and steel
production. The system includes an electric motor, coupling, gearbox, driveshaft, rollers and serval roller
brandings and the model can demonstrate the ability to detect needle bearing damage on cardan shafts, roller
bearing damage, gear damage and system misalignment through advanced needle vibration analysis. Visit

Service engineer teams are based in the UK, Germany, Sweden, The Netherlands, France and China.
