No. 34 September 2014 Lyn Robinson Village News Maids Moreton News and Events Parish Council After the summer break there was much to discuss at the Parish Council meeting on September 3. The Planning Inspectorate will be advised that the Council continues to object to the proposed development of thirteen retirement dwellings with warden flat at Fayrefield, especially as there are no suitable facilities for the elderly within easy reach. The proposal for footpath No. 3 to be straightened was accepted by the Council. It originally led from Duck Lake, past the mound and across the fields to the osier beds where willow sticks were soaked in rectangular ponds before being made into baskets. The Footpath Officer of BCC will be informed that there is currently an obstruction of an electric fence across this path relating to horses in a field near the osier beds. However, a volunteer has cut back vegetation allowing improved access to the footpath. The Neighbourhood Plan was discussed, and the sub-committee will obtain more information from local councils that have successfully achieved a plan.
