the maintenance of footpath in road reserve; clean and clear the footpath
corridor; identify and undertake footpath surface repairs; replace damaged

Definitions
Company requirements include the policy, procedures, and methodologies of the
company. They include legislative and regulatory requirements which may apply
across the company or to a specific site. Requirements are documented in the
company’s health and safety plans, traffic management plans, contract work
programmes, quality assurance programmes, policies, and procedural documents.
Contract specifications include plans, diagrams, and special technical conditions.
They do not include special administrative conditions.
Footpath corridor includes the vertical and horizontal surrounds.

Identify and undertake footpath surface repairs.
Performance criteria
3.1
Identification of the surface damage is made in accordance with company
requirements.
Range
3.2
three of the following – tripping hazard, cracking, deformation,
weed growth, subsidence, erosion, damaged timbers, frost
damage.
Footpath surface repairs are undertaken in accordance with contract
specifications and company requirements.
Range
repairs – remetalling, levelling, proprietary mixes;
surfaces – any four of – concrete, asphalt mix, chipseal, paver,
aggregate, timber.
Element 4
Replace damaged sections of footpath.
Range
one material from the following – concrete, asphalt mix, chipseal, pavers,
aggregate, timber.
Performance criteria
4.1
Damaged sections of footpath are removed in accordance with company
requirements.
4.2
Footpath replacement sections are installed in accordance with company
requirements.
4.3
Footpath surface is matched to the surrounding levels.
Element 5
Clear the worksite on completion of work.
Performance criteria
5.1
Surplus and loose materials are cleared from the site in accordance with
company requirements.
5.2
Temporary traffic control measures are removed in accordance with company
requirements.

Providers must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority, or an inter-institutional body
with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from
assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority before
they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.
Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards
must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
