ABL 2016 BASIC GUIDELINES- ALUMNI DIVISIONS Deadlines and Timetable 1. Friday, November 20- Submission of initial rosters (roster may still be changed during general assembly). Please email to abl.uao@ateneo.edu. 2. Friday, November 27- Last day for availing of the PHP 1,000.00 discount on the tournament fee. The fee payable on or before this date is PHP 19,000.00 per team. 3. Friday, November 27- Deadline for payment of tournament fee. Amount payable from November 22 to November 28 is PHP 20,000.00 per team. 4. Saturday, November 28– 1st G.A. (updates of team rosters, grouping into divisions and setting of guidelines for divisions) at Blue Eagle Gym at 3pm. A 2nd G.A. may be held if necessary for some divisions on Saturday, December 12 at 3pm at the Blue Eagle Gym 5. Saturday, January 2- Final G.A. (finalization of rosters and guidelines, release of 1st weekend schedule) at BEG at 3pm. 6. Saturday, January 9, 2016- Start of ABL 2016 Season 7. Saturday, March 19, 2016- End of ABL 2016 Season Tournament Costs Tournament Fee (cost of uniforms not included) PHP 19,000- If payment is made on or before Friday, November 20 PHP 20,000- If payment is made from Saturday, November 21 to Friday, November 27 PHP 20,500- If payment is made from December 1 onwards (The acceptance of teams who settle from December 1 onwards is subject to conditions.) ABL Uniform Fees- If payment is made on or before Friday, November 27 PHP 500.00 – ABL official jersey PHP 500.00 – ABL official shorts ABL Uniform Fees- If payment is made from December 1 onwards PHP 550.00 – ABL official jersey PHP 550.00 – ABL official shorts Uniforms ordered on or before Friday, November 27 will have a guaranteed date of delivery while uniforms ordered from December 1 onwards have no guaranteed date of delivery. Uniforms 1. Only players in official ABL uniforms (jerseys and shorts) will be allowed to play. 2. Players and teams may still use their old ABL jerseys and shorts provided there is no significant damage particularly on the letterings and the Ateneo logo. 3. Players may use several jersey numbers throughout the season. The one governing rule is that all teams should ensure that for any game, no two players have the same jersey number. Player Eligibility The following may play in any Alumni Division: 1. Alumni of any Ateneo School – Any individual who has studied in any Ateneo school for a minimum of two (2) consecutive years. 2. Current student of any Ateneo School The following may play only in the Ouano Division (essentially the strongest alumni division) 1. Employees of any Ateneo school 2. Non-Ateneo alumni parents of current Ateneo students or Ateneo alumni (official graduates) 3. Alumnus (official graduate only) or current student of any non-Ateneo Jesuit school Teams 1. Teams should have a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 22 players (subject to change). 2. The initial roster submitted may still be changed freely until the first general assembly (g.a.) After the g.a., all roster changes must be approved by the ABL. Please note that the ABL sometimes requires the unanimous consent of all teams from a division for any roster changes. All rosters will be finalized during the last g.a. 3. Teams may be named after members of the Ateneo community (e.g. Team Nebres) or official Ateneo entities (AHS 4B ’04). Teams may be named after ABL sponsors subject to clearance. Tournament Format 1. Each team will be guaranteed a minimum of 7 games. 2. There will be a maximum of 2-3 quarter/semis matches and 1 finals match per division. 3. The format will be set after the grouping of teams into divisions has been finalized. Divisions 1. Teams are grouped into divisions of 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 teams based on relative age and strength and performance in previous ABL seasons. Teams will play only those in their division. 2. There are three types of divisions. a. Batch Regular –Teams/players fall within a certain age range (“barkada” teams). b. Batch Special – Teams/players are mostly from the same GS, HS, or LS batch c. Open 3. On a case-to-case basis, divisions may be reclassified from batch to open and vice versa. Special Player/Team/Division Guidelines The following guidelines may not be waived or modified. 1. Ateneo alumni or current Ateneo students, except those given special exemptions, may play in only one Batch Regular/Special Division. 2. Players who may play in more than one Batch Special/Regular Division are the following: a. An alumnus of any Ateneo school who was born on or before December 31, 1972 or is an alumnus of AGS ’86, AHS ’90, LS’94 or any older batch than the aforementioned can play in as many Batch Regular/Special divisions they want to,. b. Father and sons in the same team, subject to guidelines and official ABL clearance. c. Players who are alumni of the GS, HS, or LS batch of a Batch-Special Division can play in one other Batch-Regular/Special Division. Please note that non-alumni of the batch of a Batch-Special Division can play in the division. However, unlike the alumni of said batch, they are not allowed to play in any other Batch Special/Regular division. [Ex. If there is a Batch-Special Division for AHS 2000, alumni of AHS 2000 (or GS 1996 or LS 2004) can play in one other Batch Regular or Special Division. A non-AHS 2000 alumnus can play in the AHS 2000 division, but if he does, the only other Batch Division he can play for is if his batch has its own Batch-Special Division.] 3. Ateneo students and alumni can join as many Open Division teams for as long as they are not in the same division. Specialized Guidelines for Divisions 1. Each division may set special guidelines like minimum ages, eligibility of ex-UAAP or current UAAP players, required playing times, etc. for their division subject to the approval of the ABL and the teams in the division. Registration and Payment Procedures 1. All interested teams should fill up the attached ABL team registration form and email it to abl.uao@ateneo.edu on or before Friday, November 20. 2. The applicable fees are as follows Tournament Fee (cost of uniforms not included) PHP 19,000- If payment is made on or before Friday, November 20 PHP 20,000- If payment is made from Saturday, November 21 to Friday, November 27 PHP 20,500- If payment is made from December 1 onwards (Conditional acceptance- If the ABL determines that the inclusion of the team will result in an unfavorable division set-up, it can refund the payment of the team.) ABL Uniform Fees- If payment is made on or before Friday, November 28 PHP 500.00 – ABL official jersey PHP 500.00 – ABL official shorts ABL Uniform Fees- If payment is made from December 1 onwards PHP 550.00 – ABL official jersey PHP 550.00 – ABL official shorts Uniforms ordered on or before Friday, November 27 will have a guaranteed date of delivery while uniforms ordered from December 1 onwards have no guaranteed date of delivery. Procedures for the ordering of uniforms will be advised via separate email. 3. Tournament and uniform fees that have been paid are generally non-refundable. They will only be refunded if the ABL decides to cancel the participation of the team or their uniform order. 4. Please take note of the following with regards to the ABL uniforms. a. Uniforms are only ordered upon receipt of payment and the uniform order form. b. Teams ordering uniforms should use the ABL Uniform Order Form which is attached and which can be downloaded from the ABL website at www.abl.ph 5. All transactions involving the ABL should be coursed through the University Athletics Office (UAO) at the 2/F of the Blue Eagle Gym. Team can pay their fees directly to the UAO or via direct deposit to a designated bank account for ABL payments. 6. While cash will be accepted, for security purposes and your convenience, we recommend teams settle their fees via check payable to the Ateneo de Manila University. Direct payments to UAO 7. ABL team representatives must first go to the UAO and look for Ms. Carina Balane or the designated UAO staff when they will pay their tournament and uniform fees. PARTIAL PAYMENTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. 8. Upon arrival, teams will be asked to accomplish a Mode of Payment Form which will contain the payment details made by the team. A copy of the form will be given to the team. 9. Check payments can be paid at the UAO directly from 9:00 am-5:00 pm on weekdays and from 9:00 am-12:00 pm on Saturdays. Cash payments will be accepted from 9am-2pm only on weekdays and 9am-10am on weekends as these need to be turned over the Central Accounting Office at the college area immediately upon receipt and before 3pm and 11am on weekdays and Saturdays respectively. 10. Alumni teams can pay their tournament and uniform fees at any Metrobank branch. 12. The detailed instructions are on the next page. General Procedures for Payments through Metrobank Account of Ateneo de Manila Additional Procedures 1. Payments for the tournament fee and ABL uniform orders should be done separately. 2. For the SUBSCRIBER NAME 3. If payment is for the tournament fee, write the name of the team and “ABL Fee-UAO”. (Ex. Team Reyes-ABL Fee-UAO) 4. If payment is for uniforms, writhe the name of the team and “ABL Uniforms-UAO”. (Ex. Team Reyes-ABL Uniforms-UAO) 5. For the SUBSCRIBER NO- Write “013”. Confirmation Procedure 1. On a blank portion on the validated deposit slip, write the name of the team representative and cell phone number. 2. Email a copy of the validated deposit slip with the contact details of the team representative to abl.uao@ateneo.edu. 3. You will need to email a copy of the deposit slip so that the settlement of the tournament and the uniform fees can be officially confirmed.
