Praise God Almighty for His blessings so that we can finish writing a paper ,
entitled " INDONESIAN " is. In order to fulfill the task of Indonesian subjects.

, S.Pd who has guided us during the preparation of this paper.
Hopefully this paper can provide greater insight and be contribute ideas to
readers , especially students SMA BPI 2 Bandung . We are aware that this paper still

CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background
Indonesia is a developing country in the world that consists of thousands of islands.
It has a diversity of culture, ethnicity, race and religion. As a country that compound
and has many differences, the advantages and disadvantages at the same time if the
difference is put forward.
From the geographical position, the position of the territory of Indonesia is located
between two continents and two oceans, it also Located between the continents of Asia
and Australia and between the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean.
Indonesia is on a very strategic location because it is a traffic junction world and
affect the economic development of Indonesia itself, in addition to strategic location of
the region, Indonesia also has abundant natural resources that lie on the ground until
the sea which was not shared by all the other countries and the situation has the
potential emergence of problems, especially problems of sea territorial disputes
between neighboring countries.
We can conlude from some of the above circumstances, Indonesia has a high
potential for conflict is a conflict that is both external and internal, and this is where
there needs to be one thing in common that could unite Indonesia without promoting
differences to strengthen a sense of nationalism and faithful to defend Indonesia from
threats outside the country in any form.

Based on the description above, the problems can be formulated as follows
1. How does the current state of the Indonesian nation?
2. Why Indonesian crucial in building the nation?
3. Indonesian How can help build this nation?

1. Students are expected to understand the current state of the nation Indonesia.
2. Students are expected to participate in building this nation to love their own
culture and promoting equality.

DISCUSSION
2.1 Indonesian State in Indonesia
Great nation is a nation that does not forget the history of his people if we turn
round how language is a tool that is capable of unifying the nation emphasizes the
similarities and override the differences.
Indonesian At the moment has become the language of instruction in education
and various state activities but in ordinary life day in some segments of society are still
using local languages and vice versa in some other society, using a foreign language is
considered to have a prestigious degree level and higher when compared to using
Indonesian.
2.2 Position and Function of Indonesian
When viewed from the position, Indonesian has four positions, namely as the
national language, the national language, the language of the country, and the official
language. During its development, the Indonesian language is the language of the
culture and language of science. Sixth position has a different function, although in

In conjunction as a means of unifying the tribes and cultures who have different

of inter-ethnic marriages, and increasing the number of civil servants or private transfer
from one region to another.
Indonesian position as the national language known since August 17, 1945 when
the nation of Indonesia declared its independence. Indonesian reflect the social values
of national culture and national language, Indonesia declared self-esteem and cultural
values that can be used as a matter of life and as a symbol of national identity.
With the enactment of the Act of 1945 , Indonesian position to grow as an official
language . In his capacity as the state language , the Indonesian language is used in
ceremonies , events , and state activities , either orally or in writing . Speeches state
written and spoken Indonesian.
Writing and translating textbooks and presentation of lessons in educational
institutions for the general public is done by using Indonesian. Thus, the people of
Indonesia are no longer dependent on foreign languages (language resources). At this
stage, Indonesian increasing its role as a language of science.
2.3 Indonesian Role in Development
In order to minimize the turbulence that threatens the harmony and unity of the
nation, Indonesian is as an integral tool for maintaining national stability so as to create
a conducive society which ultimately accelerate the process of development in various
areas throughout the archipelago.
Development process focused only can be realized if a nation and its people to live
in peace and harmony suana and Indonesian has been performing its role to maintain
national stability is a requirement to accelerate the development process and in this
case this language played a role in developing Indonesia both from the aspect of human
and infrastructure development.
In order to strengthening the role of Indonesian in the development of the necessary
development of Indonesian itself. The passing of the era of globalization that affects
all aspects of life be it culture, science and technology had an impact on the
development of Indonesian. The total area and forms an archipelago, separated by the
sea and have a language background of each area is possible the change of vocabulary
and dialect in each region. To maintain the integrity of the Indonesian, intensive
communication between regions should be optimized.
2.4 Indonesian Role in The Era of Globalization
In the journey of a people, surely will make a relationship with other nations and
Indonesia is no exception nation which is increasingly the relationship that occurs
between the nations of the world become more intense as a result of technological
developments that create relationships between many countries increasingly
widespread.
In this era of globalization, the role of Indonesian should be encouraged by every
citizen. It is intended that the Indonesian nation and not be carried away by the
influence of foreign culture that does not comply with the language and culture of
Indonesia. Foreign influences are not in accordance with the nation's cultural identity
will only erode the Indonesian nation and one of them was Indonesian.
The extensive exchange of information that occurs in the era of globalization is
highly vulnerable to shifting cultural values and one of the ways that can be taken to
avoid a shift in values culture is the awareness and faithful to the original culture of the
nation Indonesia, one of which is Indonesian.
Indonesian language loyalty attitude reflected if the Indonesian people prefer to
use the Indonesian language than a foreign language, but remains open to foreign
culture to understand the limitations that are not contrary to the norm, ethics, and
culture itself. Indonesian nation is not possible shut down of international relations.
Therefore, it can distinguish between positive and negative influences which are a
must.
A positive attitude by showing love for the language, the homeland, and to
understand the identity of the nation is a shield to exist in the era of globalization
without degrading and being rigid against culture Other nations.

CLOSING
3.1 Conclusion
Formally Indonesian has four positions, namely as the national language, the
national language, the language of the country, and the official language.Besides
having an important role in the life of society, nation, and state, thus the language of
Indonesia and also regional languages have an important role in promoting community
development in various aspects of life.
3.2 Suggestion
All citizens in Indonesia should be able to communicate using good Indonesian for
increasing nation unity.
