This activity has been designed to consolidate the language in the topic of talking about age. Students match the Indonesian word with its English translation. The teacher could add a timer from the Gallery tab to time the activity. © NSW Department of Education and Training 2010 Page | 1 Question/answer practice The teacher and/or students touches 'Select' to randomly choose a name. Then they touch in the white box of the random number generator to randomly generate a number. Students then follow the example given to ask the person's age and provide the response. Sentence formation Students use the words from the word pool in the yellow box to complete this activity. Students read the sentences in the blue rectangles one by one. For each sentence, students drag the corresponding words from the yellow box into the pink box to form the correct translation. Once each sentence is complete, students touch each blue rectangle to reveal the correct answer. Students can also complete this activity in their books. Listening activity Students touch the yellow stars at the bottom of the page to hear a person introduce themselves, saying their name, age and hobby. Students then say which person the audio matches. When complete, students use the pull tabs attached to each person to see the transcript of their introduction and check their responses. This could also be used as a reading exercise. Continuation of previous activity. © NSW Department of Education and Training 2010 Page | 2 Anagrams Students look at the English clue on the left and hit the appropriate letters in the correct order to spell out the Indonesian translation. Touch 'Next' to move on to the next word. The activity can be edited to include eight vocabulary items. Magic wall Students look at the English clue on the left and say/write (in their books) the Indonesian translation. By dragging the English phrase through the magic wall, the Indonesian will be revealed. Guessing game Students guess the age of each person, drilling the question/answer pattern. Once the response has been given, the teacher and/or student drags the magnifying glass to the area below each person to reveal the correct age.
