INTRODUCTION
The governing body of a Voluntary Aided school, being the admissions authority for the school,
must comply with the preference of school expressed by a parent, unless to do so would adversely
affect the education of other pupils, lead to an inefficient use of the school’s resources, or be in
breach of Infant Class Size Legislation.

BACKGROUND
On behalf of the governing body of [name of school] Primary School, I confirm that pupils are
admitted to the school in accordance with the school’s published Admissions Policy (please see

resolved to refuse to admit any applicants in excess of this Planned Admission Numbers in any year
