Teaching lives: the personal as pedagogy Do you teach non-fictional texts? Do you ask students to engage with 'the self' in their assessments? Do you make use of social media in your teaching? You are invited to a roundtable discussion on the personal as pedagogy. In this roundtable we encourage participants to share their teaching and research ideas with the aim of supporting scholarship of teaching research and potential collaborations on these topics. Possible discussion issues include, but are not limited to: - examples of engaging 'the personal' in teaching the ethics of teaching life writing or non-fictional texts engaging with social media in teaching the complications of students' self-disclosure in teaching contexts the fraught notion of 'relatability': negotiating students' relationship to texts When: Thursday, 29 October 2 - 4pm Where: Humanities 262 Afternoon tea will be provided. We will structure the session by having participants briefly outline their interest in these topics, followed by an informal discussion across the issues.
