Rules for Using MCC Playground After School Hours








Children must be accompanied by an adult when entering, leaving or playing on the playground
at all times.
Animals are not allowed on the playground for any reason.
No climbing on the fence, gate or picnic tables is allowed.
Sand and mulch must stay in their designated areas; mulch on the ground, sand in the sand
box.
Sand toys must stay in the sandbox
Sand boxes should be covered by the last group on the playground for the day to avoid animal
feces and excess water in the sand.
Toys and balls are not allowed on the large play structure.
Do not stand on the top of the tunnel on the large playground structure.
Swings:



One person per swing – children must sit on their bottoms, no stomach or back swinging.
Swings must be facing the playground when swinging.
Twisting swings, slinging them, or jumping from them is not allowed.
Slides:



Slide down slide feet first only and on your bottom.
Only one person is allowed on the slide at a time and they must wait for the next person to
exit the slide prior to going down. Climbing and hanging on the edge of the slide is not allowed.
Do not climb up the slide-use the steps to get to the top only. One person at a time on the
steps.
Sandbox:


Sand and toys must stay in the sandbox. Never throw sand.
The last group using the sandbox during the day should cover it with the tarp.
Climbing Wall:

Children may only climb to the top of the climbing wall and then back down again, they are not
allowed to go over the top of the climbing wall.
Toddler Playground:



The Toddler Playground (small playground) is only for children 2 years and younger, please
don’t allow older children to play on it as the equipment is not made for their weight.
Do not allow children to jump the fence or use the toy boxes as places to stand or jump from.
Do not sit on toy boxes as they will break from the weight.
