Allison “Alli” McEwen
My name is Alli McEwen and I am a senior Supply Chain major with an Economics minor. I
am the president of the Shippensburg University Community Orchestra, where I play the violin, as
well as the vice president of membership of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity. I
enjoy spending time with my roommates, friends, and brothers as well as staying involved on
campus. I love animals and finding random animal facts, my favorite sport hands down is track and I
love the color lime green. I would like to be homecoming Queen because it is my last year here and I
have been involved in many different things but this was always something I wanted to try. And what
better time to try it than my last year at my favorite school.
Jaelin Smith
My name is Jaelin Smith, I am a senior at Shippensburg University. My major is Criminal
Justice with minors in Psychology and Anthropology. Currently, I work as an intern with New
Visions, Inc., which is a community-based mental health agency. I also work with the Learning
Center as a Criminal Justice tutor.
It has been my pleasure to serve as the Vice President of the African American Organization
(Afro-Am), while participating as an active member in many peer leadership groups throughout the
Multicultural Student Affairs. As a recipient of multiple scholarships including the Board of
Governors Scholarship, I would like to express my gratitude as these honors assisted tremendously in
my academic endeavors thus far.
I am now recognized as an active member of the National Criminal Justice Honors Society. In
my free time I enjoy attending local church services, hanging out with friends, traveling, and working
with the youth of my community. I would love to be Homecoming Queen because I feel it represents
the extended dedication and commitment of being more than just a part of the student body. Being
crowned queen provides the example of excelling in the collegiate arena while being supported by
my peers.
Michelle Schultz
My name is Michelle Schultz and I am a senior majoring in Exercise Science. Throughout my
time here at Shippensburg University, I have had the opportunity to become very involved around
campus. I currently am serving as one of the undergraduate interns for New Student Orientation, a
peer mentor for the Biology First-Year Interest Group Living Learning Community, and I work in the
Career and Community Engagement Center. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my friends
and watching Disney movies. I am running for Homecoming Queen because I am interested in
representing the student body, and this is something that I never thought I would do before. I love
Ship and I feel that this is my chance to try something different, have fun, and represent how much
you can accomplish during your time here.
Kendall Ohrwashel
When I was in fourth grade, I was diagnosed with Rheumatic Fever, a disease that affected my
heart, muscles, and joints. While being diagnosed and treated, I spent numerous hours in hospitals. I
decided to raise money for other children, who spend a lot of time at appointments, through the
Make-A-Wish Foundation. They, like all others, deserve happiness and positivity. Since then, I have
raised over $40,000, granting the wishes for about eleven children. This helped influence my decision
to major in Early Childhood Education. I selected Shippensburg because of our beautiful campus, the
affordable price, and the wonderful Education program. Shippensburg University has helped make
me who I am today. I was able to join a club and get a job doing what I love. I am the Vice President
of Orientation Team, I am a Desk Assistant, and I maintain a Dean’s List GPA. Through these
opportunities, I decided what I want to do with my life. My future plans are to attend Graduate
School at for College Student Personnel at my home, Shippensburg University. I would love to
represent Shippensburg as our Homecoming Queen to spread my love of the school to my fellow
Raiders.
Bryanna Beamer
My name is Bryanna Beamer. I am a junior psych major with plans to be an elementary school
counselor. I am apart of many clubs on campus. I am the finance chair of thon, co-entertainment chair
of APB, a resident assistant in Naugle, a member of the women's varsity tennis team, and a member
of the orientation team. My interests include traveling, reading, writing lyrics, and eating but I hate
cooking. I want to run for Homecoming queen because it's my last fall semester here at Ship and I
want to make it as memorable as possible.
Rosemary “Rosie” Cloran
My name is Rosie Cloran and I am a Human Communications major as well as a Business
minor. I currently work on campus as a Desk Assistant and have for 3 years now. This semester I
have the pleasure of being an intern at the Shippensburg University Conference Center. I have a large
amount of love for Shippensburg University! Since the first day I stepped foot on campus as a first
year student I have had nothing but pride for being a student of this university. Some of my interests
include: cooking, traveling, meeting new people, and arts and crafts. I want to be the 2015
Homecoming Queen because I see myself as a Ship student who loves her University and wants to be
a positive role model for future students to come.
Katherine “Katie” Allen
Hello my name is Katie Allen, and I am from Harrisburg, PA. I am a 23 year old Senior
Majoring in Marketing and am expected to graduate this coming December. Throughout my years at
Ship I have not only gained knowledge and experience but I have been involved within the
Shippensburg community. I have participated in Intramural Basketball and have also engaged in
volunteer work. When I am not in the classroom or at work I try to socially engage myself with other
students around me whether I know them or not. Shippensburg has given me so much not only
providing me with an education but with lifelong friendships and so many memories, so I would love
to give back to Shippensburg the best way I can. This is why I would be honored to be a nominee for
Homecoming Queen because I feel as though I could also represent Shippensburg University in a
very positive manner. Thank you everyone and hopefully you will choose to nominate me for
Homecoming Court 2015. Red Raiders for Life and God Bless!
Nicole James
I am a senior Communications/Journalism major and English minor. I am the Director of In
Motion Dance Troupe and the Assistant News Editor of the Slate. During my time at Shippensburg
University, I was actively involved with the Red Sea, the Residence Hall Association for Naugle
Hall, Editor-In-Chief of the Cumberland Yearbook and I work in the CUB as a part of the Project
Center crew. During my junior year, I awarded media group MVP for my work with the yearbook.
My outside interests include playing sports, writing, and spending time with friends and family.
I want to be the 2015 Homecoming Queen because I feel that I am a positive representation of this
University but more importantly, I am very supportive of the organization this year’s Homecoming
is centered on. The Reins of Rhythm Riding and Horsemanship is a great program that strengthens
children’s confidence and allows them to create relationships with others whose interest reflect
their own. It is unfortunate when a child is not given the best opportunities and this organization is
a stepping stone for many. I would be grateful to be a part of supporting such an important
organization in this area.
Marie Robinson
My name is Marie Robinson and I am currently a senior majoring in Human Resource
Management. I am a section leader for the Red Raider marching band and a campus tour guide. I
was elected as president of the Food Recovery Network this past spring, which is an organization that
donates leftover food from Reisner to serve those in need. You can also see me in the computer labs
on campus as one of the lab attendants. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, skiing and doing yoga. I
want to become homecoming queen because I love Shippensburg University! Being a volunteer tour
guide allows me to recruit prospective students, and nothing is more satisfying than having a student
attend here and love Ship as much as I do!
Kayla Norton
My name is Kayla Norton and I am a senior Psychology major. On campus, I am involved in a
few different organizations such as FUSE, a Christian group dedicated to making known the name of
Jesus, as well as a ministry called Operation Richard St. that invests in reaching out to the community
by handing out free hot dogs every Thursday night. Apart from those, the majority of my time is
spent in the CUB as Project Center manager, where I ensure the various needs of over 200 student
organizations and clubs are met. This year, I would like to become Shippensburg University’s
Homecoming Queen because it allows me the opportunity to reach out to the community to gain
support for such an amazing organization. Through fundraising efforts, I hope to not only be able to
provide Reins of Rhythm Riding and Horsemanship with monetary support, but also to promote their
name and great cause, encouraging future supporters! Not only will I be supporting this organization,
but as Homecoming Queen, I will be supporting our very own University while holding the title with
honor, elegance, and pride!
.
Javonna Wylie
My name is Javonna Wylie. I am a senior, Social Work major-what a journey it has been! I
have grown so much during my time here at Ship. I did not always love Ship the way that I do now
but through dedication, faith and the lovely communities that I have been blessed to be a part of,
I’ve grown a humungous heart for our university! I’m a feminist! Campus involvement includes:
homecoming committee, Rape Educators and Contacts, a peer mentor for the LLC Discover SU,
Earth Day, the Big Buddy Program, Migrant Education tutoring program volunteer and I am a
former Orientation Leader as well as a member of Harmonic Voices of Truth Gospel choir.
I’m running for homecoming queen because I want to encourage all my queens on campus
to rise above the status quo! Full figured women are beautiful, black skin is beautiful, pale skin is
beautiful, battered women are beautiful, athletic women are beautiful, Muslimas are beautiful,
LGBT women are beautiful, skinny women are beautiful. Whatever you identify as IS beautiful.
LIFE is so beautiful! And I pray that if I can make it to campaign, I can represent all the
underrepresented groups on campus! I want you to know that I see you and I stand for YOU!
Agape.
Dorissa Lea Brivchik
As a senior, I am honored to be a candidate for the 2015 Homecoming Court. Here at
Shippensburg, I am pursuing a Biology and Health Professions degree, as I am attending Physician
Assistant School after graduation. This year, I received The Biology Senior Award and I was elected
president of Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society. I am a member of the Health Sciences Club
and was a member of the Shippensburg University Cheerleading team. I work as a Biology tutor in
the Learning Center allowing me to inspire Biology students with their studies. During my time here
at Shippensburg, I also had the opportunity to complete an undergraduate research project with Dr.
Delis. Specifically working with snakes in Wallops Island, Virginia, I presented my research at the
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania University Biologists meeting in Bloomsburg. Being on
Homecoming Court would give me the opportunity to represent the university and my organizations
in a positive way. It’s been a pleasure to help students find their passion through tutoring as well as
spread school spirit through cheerleading at football games. I would be honored to show my genuine
pride for our school and embrace an amazing experience my senior year.
Kelly Monaghan
Hello! My name is Kelly Monaghan. I am currently a senior studying biology, with a premedicine concentration. My future plans are to attend graduate school and obtain a doctorate in
Immunology. For the past 6 semesters I have been on the Dean’s List, and I am also a recipient of the
Board of Governors Scholarship. I am active member of many organizations on campus, many of
which are honors societies. These include Order of Omega, Shippensburg University Honors
Program, Phi Kappa Phi, and Tri Beta. I am also the current President and former Vice President of
Recruitment of Alpha Phi Fraternity. All of these organizations contain service components, thus
many of my hours are spent aiding the community in things such as street cleans ups, raising money
for the American Heart Association and volunteering at the local nursing home. I am also an avid
reader, health advocate and musician. I would like to be Homecoming Queen because I feel very
strongly about giving back to the community in any way that I am able. I also feel that this is a way
to give back to a University that has given so much to me over these past four years.
