Please do not mail a hard copy of entries. Entry fees are to be submitted by check payable to Wisconsin Southdown Assoc .and mailed separately with consignor name and number of entries to Barb Bishop, WSA Treasurer, W4628 Hall Rd., Rio, WI 53960. Entry Fee: $20/lot if you are a member of the Wisconsin Southdown Association, $25/lot for non-members. Entry fee is non-refundable and due at time of entry. Commission: 10% of the gross sale price of the animal. Entry Deadline: March 15th, 2014. A RedBarn Branding representative will contact you after your entries are received to collect from you pictures of your lots for the online color catalog. Location: University of Wisconsin Public Events Building, N695 Hopkins Road, Arlington, WI (approx. 10 miles Northeast of I94 Madison exits). Entire event is located in a heated, climate controlled building. There are no sheep washing facilities on the grounds. Breakfast/Lunch stand available in the building. Health Papers: A Certificate of Veterinarian Inspection (CVI) issued within 30 days of the sale, must be presented to Sale Management for every lot entered in the sale and must include BOTH private flock tag and complete scrapie tag number for each lot. A Federal Scrapie ID Tag must be in each animal's ear before arrival at the sale site. This applies to all animals in all categories. Multiple entries may be on the same health paper, but you will need to bring enough photocopies to have 2 copies for each animal. Registration Papers: All breeding animals sold must have an American Southdown Breeders Association approved registration paper. Registration papers will be transferred and forwarded to the buyers after payment is received. Cost of transfers will be deducted from consignor settlement checks. Please send in your applications for registry now in order to get them back in time for the sale. Futurity: Fees for nominated ASBA futurity ewe lambs, including the fall ewe lamb contest, will be deducted from consignor settlement checks and forwarded to the ASBA. Nominations must be designated when animals are paint branded the day of sale. Please see additional ASBA Pot ‘O Gold Futurity Rules and Regulations on the ASBA February 1, 2014 Wisconsin Southdown Stars Sale Wisconsin Southdown Stars Sale April 19th, 2014 New for 2014 Wisconsin Southdown Futurity for Junior Exhibitors: Eligibility - Any ewe purchased by a junior or a partnership among junior age siblings at the 2014 Wisconsin Southdown Sale or as lamb at the 2013 Wisconsin Sale that would show as a yearling in 2014 is eligible for the Wisconsin Futurity when entered and shown by the junior(s) at the Midwest Regional Jr. Southdown Show at the Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival in 2014. Jackpot - $30 for highest placing and $20 for second highest placing ewe within the yearling ewe, fall ewe, winter ewe lamb and spring ewe lamb classes at the Midwest Regional Jr. Southdown Show held at the Wisconsin Sheep & Wool Festival. These 8 ewes would return after the selection of the Champion Southdown ewe of the show to compete for Champion Wisconsin Futurity Ewe with an award of $100. Penning: Sheep are penned in 5X8 new Ketchum pens. Consignors must provide their own bedding. Penning will be assigned by Sponsor. If you have special penning requests, please let us know on the entry form. DNA Test Results: This sale will follow the American Southdown Association sale policy. The seller warrants to the buyer that sheep sold are free of hereditary chondrodysplasia (spider), ectodermal dysplasia (hairy lamb), and contain a minimum of one R at codon 171. Individual DNA test results are not required for animals whose genotypes can be determined from their pedigrees and are warranted and represented as such by the consignor. Sale Sponsor assumes NO liability, legal or otherwise, expressed or implied as it relates to genomic information. Transportation after sale: Buyer is responsible for arranging transportation of the animal after the sale. Sale management will assist offsite buyers in making transportation arrangements but will not be responsible for providing transportation of the purchase to the new owner.
