‘Curriculum Cruise for Parents’

6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

K-6 classroom teachers will share activities, instructional strategies, and resources that parents can use at
home to help their child(ren) with grade level objectives throughout the year. They will also spend a few
minutes reviewing classroom expectations and procedures. Activities will be provided for students in the gym
from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. while parents attend the informational sessions with their teachers.
Each grade level will present two 45 minute informational sessions. The first session is scheduled for 6:00 –
6:45 p.m. and the second session is scheduled for 6:45 – 7:30 p.m. Parents who have more than two children
attending Vaughan may choose the grade level session(s) in which they feel they have an interest or a greater
need to attend. They may also stop by to pick up any handouts from the other grade levels as needed.
All faculty and staff will be introduced at 5:30 p.m. during the PTA meeting prior to the ‘cruise.’ Fifth grade
parents will be invited to attend an informational meeting about Sky Ranch immediately following the
curriculum meetings. Note that parents will need to keep students with them at PTA and Sky Ranch sessions,
as student activities are only offered in the gym from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
In order for teachers to prepare appropriately, please complete the information below and return to your
child’s homeroom teacher at your earliest convenience.
