1. Students will begin by brainstorming
their invented character’s traits (using the
Characterization Chart). (Handout) A copy
of this brainstorming page is due before
they leave class.

3. Students began Character Sketches
by using Characterization Chart to
brainstorm their character’s traits and
then used these traits to write a
character sketch, following the method
demonstrated in class last week. (To be
turned-in at end of 4th class, Feb. 13th).
Students will use this class time to work on
their “5 paragraph response papers” about
the short story that they selected and read.
(Due at the beginning of 4th class: Feb. 13th.)

this assignment with the instructor at this

1. Prepare a Journal Page to turn-in at
the beginning of next class.
2. Finish Response Paper for beginning
of next class, Feb. 13th. Be sure to

next class.
∙Reading Assignments: Students will
continue to read and think about the
four chapters already assigned.
