TASK:
The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas is a powerful story that can teach us lessons about bullying, prejudice,
hate and the innocence of childhood. Through the story we are introduced to the historical events of World
War II and Hitler’s Nazi Germany and through the character Bruno, we begin to understand the horrors
of the Holocaust and how unjust and unfair our world can be.
Your task is to construct a persuasive speech that argues for or against one of the following statements.
1. The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas is an important novel that all young people should read.

2. The movie version of The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas is more powerful than the novel.
