1. ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
(For students admitted in AY2014-2015)
To graduate, first year students must accumulate a minimum 128 academic units (AUs)
comprising 37 AUs of Core courses, 35 AUs of Prescribed Electives, 12 AUs of GER-COREs and
15 AUs of GER-PEs and 29 AUs of Unrestricted Electives. It is important that you check your
degree audit in advance so that you have sufficient AUs for course registration.

Year 1 and 2 students are NOT allowed to register for Year 3 and Year 4 courses beginning
with the code CS4XXX.
Students can register for additional CS courses (PEs) at the lower level and/or GER-PEs and
UEs provided that they have not exceeded the maximum 19 AUs and there are vacancies for
these courses.

5. REGISTRATION STUDY YEAR
The Registration Study Year is your study year in S2 AY 2014-15 and is determined by the
following:
Total AU earned to date + Total AU registered in S1 AY2014-15>= minimum AU required to
be promoted.
Total AU earned –to-date + School’s normal load AU for S1 AY14-15>= min AU required to be
promoted.

6. OVERLOADING OF AUs
For overloading of AUs, students must complete the Course Approval Form available under
the Frequently Used Form tab. Please click on this link to access the tab:

All forms for overloading should be submitted not later than 11 December 2014.
7. ACADEMIC ADVISORS
It is the responsibility of the students to follow the registration procedure and to complete
the required AUs from year to year. Students are encouraged to consult the following people
who can advise them on registration matters.

8. ADVICE ON PLACING GERPE/UE ON WAITLIST
Number of GERPE and UE to be placed on waitlist up to 5 choices each for GERPE and UE.
You can place or make changes to the GERPE/UE waitlist from 5.00 pm – 10.00 pm daily
from the day of your registration till Friday, 19 Dec 2014.
To increase your chances to be allocated GERPE/UE, you are advised to:
 Consider GERPE/UE with few students on waitlist
 Place at least 3 choices on waitlist for GERPE and UE each.
