BAKER MISSION’S WEEK OF PRAYER CALENDAR
Dakota Baptist Convention
September 11, 2014 (Day Five)
Ephesians 3:20-21: “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we
ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church
and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.”
As we remember the Baker Mission Fund this week, we recognize God is the King of Glory.
He is sovereign in every sense of the word. He alone is worthy of all praise and honor. This
week we should never forget that.
We should pray for the pastor’s who will have an emergency in their lives this year – may
they be able to quickly remember that God is in control, He loves them and this emergency
in no way catches Him by surprise. He uses these things for His glory.
PRAY: May God use these Baker Mission Offering resources to help pastors in their time of
need during emergencies in their lives. May they recognize the love of other Dakota
Baptists when they receive this gift. They do not stand alone in their service to God. Part of
being ‘Dakota Strong’ is seen in the love of Dakota Baptists for one another. “By this all men
will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:35)
SERVE: If you hear of a pastor in need, pray God would quickly meet that need. Pray about
your being a part of the solution to this need. If you yourself have a skill that would meet
this need, offer your services. If it is a financial need, and you have the ability to meet it,
offer your help to this pastor. If you have a group of friends you think could work together
to meet this need, talk with them and ask them to give. Ask God to show you how you can
help to meet the emergency needs of those men who are faithfully serving God around you.
GO: Ask God to show you how you can help when you see a pastoral emergency. Trust God
to direct your steps when you want to offer help in this pastor’s emergency. “The elders
who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose
work is preaching and teaching.” (1 Tim. 5:17)
SHARE: The pastor is God’s appointed and anointed man. Pray that God will give you the
willingness to help this pastor in his time of need. “John answered, “The man with two
tunics should share with him who has none, and the one who has food should do the same.”
(Luke 3:11)
“All-sufficient King,
when I come into your presence I see
the glory of your perfections,
the thrones of eternal and universal empire,
the ten thousand times ten thousand who minister to you.
Impress my mind with the consciousness of your greatness,
not to drive me from you
but to inspire me to approach you;
not to diminish my confidence in you,
but to lead me to admire your great condescension.
You have been mindful of me and visited me,
taken charge of me from birth,
cared in all conditions for me,
fed me at your table,
drawn the curtains of love around me,
given me new mercies every morning.
Suffer me not to forget that I look for yet greater blessings –
a hope beyond the grave,
the earnest and foretastes of immorality,
holiness, wisdom, strength, peace, joy;
all these you have provided for me in Christ.
I grieve to think how insensible I have been
of the claims of your authority,
and the endearments of your love;
how little I have credited thy truth,
trusted your promises,
feared your threats,
obeyed your commands,
improved my advantages,
welcomed your warnings,
responded to your grace;
but not withstanding my desert I yet live.
May your goodness always lead me to repentance,
and your longsuffering prove my salvation.”
