Dual Enrollment/Move on When Ready Paulding County Schools District students most often attend Chattahoochee Technical College, Georgia Highlands, Kennesaw State University and the University of West Georgia due to location. Please know that students may take advantage of other postsecondary schools throughout the state. Always make inquiries of your school counselor if you have any questions. Below are deadlines as well as admissions requirements for the above institutions: Chattahoochee Technical College http://www.chattahoocheetech.edu/enrollment/admissions/admission-requirements-for-mowr/ Test scores, application, and MOWR participation agreement must be submitted by the applicable deadlines below: Spring Semester 2016 (January – May 2016): November 20, 2015 Summer Semester 2016 (May – August 2016): March 25, 2016 Fall Semester 2016 (August – December 2016): May 20, 2016 Qualifying test scores to enroll in MOWR (for academic courses*) are as follows: If you have taken the SAT, then go to www.collegeboard.org, log into your account, and print a copy of your score report (or take a screen shot) and scan/email it to MOWR@chattahoocheetech.edu. If you have taken the ACT, then go to www.actstudent.org, log into your account, and print a copy of your score report (or take a screen shot) and scan/email it to MOWR@chattahoocheetech.edu. If you have not taken the SAT and/or ACT or your scores do not meet the minimum requirements, then you will be required to take our college Compass placement test. COMPASS TESTING INFORMATION There is no charge for the COMPASS placement test for students wishing to pursue Move On When Ready (MOWR). Testing days/times vary per campus and can be found HERE. September 13, 2015 1 Students must present their photo ID at the time of the test, and identify themselves to the testing administrator as a high school student testing for MOWR. Students must know/bring their Social Security Number, as this will be used to issue them a Chattahoochee Tech student ID number (900#). Students must select that they are “testing for MOWR” on the Testing Registration Form (completed at the time of the test) to ensure that the testing fee is waived. Students are allotted two testing attempts to meet minimum scores per enrollment term. * Testing requirements differ for diploma/technical courses. Admission Requirements Current student enrolled in an eligible public or private high school (or home school program) in Georgia, and at least 16 years old as of the first day of the semester enrolled. Enrollment Steps Step 1: Scan and email SAT and/or ACT scores to MOWR@chattahoocheetech.edu or take the Compass placement test (information for taking the Compass placement test can be found HERE). Step 2: Complete the online MOWR admissions application HERE. When the application deadline date falls on a holiday or weekend the deadline will be close of business on the next business day. Students are encouraged to apply several months prior to the start of classes to ensure class availability and processing of financial aid. The Move on When Ready (MOWR) Program is designed for high school students who are capable of entering college while still completing high school coursework and requirements. Students must have approval from their high school counselor and their parents. Please seek approval from your high school counselor before beginning the application process. It is important to note that the MOWR program covers tuition, most fees, and books. Some fees, such as a Science lab fee or online course fee, are the responsibility of the student! Applicants also must be exempted from Learning Support by meeting or exceeding the minimum SAT Verbal/Critical Reading score of 480 and SAT Mathematics score of 440, or applicants must meet or exceed the minimum ACT English score of 20 and ACT Mathematics score of 18. 10TH GRADE LEVEL Minimum high school GPA 3.5 in core classes as calculated by the college SAT combined score of 1250 or minimum ACT composite score of 27. Applicants also must be exempted from Learning Support by meeting or exceeding the minimum SAT Verbal/Critical Reading score of 480 and SAT Mathematics score of 440, or applicants must meet or exceed the minimum ACT English score of 20 and ACT Mathematics score of 18. Applicants also must be exempted from Learning Support by meeting or exceeding the minimum SAT Verbal/Critical Reading score of 480 and SAT Mathematics score of 440, or applicants must meet or exceed the minimum ACT English score of 20 and ACT Mathematics score of 18. NOTE: THE FALL 2016 APPLICATION WILL OPEN ON AUGUST 1, 2015 Dual Enrollment provides an opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to get a head start on college. Students take college classes in lieu of high school classes and earn both high school and college credit simultaneously. This program is designed for academically accelerated students and can also be referred to as Move on When Ready. Minimum 3.0 GPA as recalculated by KSU, in courses used to satisfy the 17 CollegePreparatory Curriculum (CPC) requirements in English, Mathematics, Natural Science, Social Science and Foreign Language (see Staying on Course link below) 1100 SAT (Critical Reading and Math scores combined) SAT Critical Reading score no lower than 530 SAT Math score no lower than 530 -or ACT Composite score of 24 ACT English sub-score no lower than 23 ACT Math sub-score no lower than 22 All students must begin the program in Kennesaw State's fall semester. Students must have completed high school curricular requirements to be classified as a junior or senior by the first day of Kennesaw State's fall semester, and must be on track to complete a College-Prep diploma. Students must also be age 15 or older by the first day of Kennesaw State's fall semester. Students that are over the age of 15 but under the age of 16 by the first day of class must submit the Dual Enrollment Honors Program Acknowledgement Form for Minors. KSU Admissions Checklist ❑ Once you have submitted your student participation agreement form to the Admissions Office and qualify for Move On When Ready (MOWR), you will receive information about submitting your online application using a MOWR application fee waiver. If you do not qualify for MOWR, submit your online application and $40 application fee. Home educated students must submit a Home Educated Applicant Portfolio.
