Product Specification Stamped Impression Concrete Decorative Concrete surface finish that simulates rocks, slate or stone paving *1.00 Stamped Impression Concrete Finish 1.10 To those concrete surfaces indicated on the drawings, the pavement surface shall be finished with stamped concrete surface design. The Stamped Impression finish will strengthen the concrete surface, provide a pattern and/or surface texture, add colour and visual appeal plus allow the applicator to finish the surface according to this specification. 1.11 General The stamped concrete finish shall be applied, cast and impressioned, strictly in accordance with the guidelines nominated within the Stamped Impression Concrete guidelines. All work shall be carried out by an experienced contractor, who is well trained in the application of the specific, documented, decorative concrete system. 1.12 Application Summary After the wet concrete has been placed in the usual way a Colour Hardener is applied followed by a contrasting coloured Release Agent, evenly cast over the surface. The applicator then uses textured stamp mats to create the design impression. After curing, excess Release Agent is removed to reveal the pattern with contrasting highlights. A sealer is applied to enhance its appearance and improve cleanability. 1.20 Components Stamp Matts / Design: Pre moulded specialist Stamping Matts, when impressioned into the wet concrete, creates surface pattern / design and decorative surface texture. Surface Finish: Two surface finishes are commonly used for Stamped Concrete. a. Smooth Trowel – smooth surface, when sealed with an appropriate sealer will achieve a high gloss appearance. Cove Finish – Hand tools are used to provide a swirl pattern in the concrete surface, resulting in high and low points which provide some resistance to slipping.
