We believe that these partnerships can have incredible benefits for the UK and the NHS as well, by not only building strong relationships across the globe, but by broadening the education of health professionals within the UK. We are proud of the fact that Cambridge University Hospitals is now one of only a few NHS Foundation Trusts with a dedicated programme supporting global health activity. Since 2006, the programme has supported over 100 volunteer placements in 25 countries, and over 60 medical student elective bursaries. We have two established international health links with: Botswana and El Salvador; and an affiliated one in Romania via another Cambridge based charity.
