La Pasta to release a new line of organic pastas
(Washington, DC- June 26, 2015) La Pasta, Inc. is proud to announce it will be releasing a line of
organic pastas. They are still in the process of finalizing recipes and certifying. The line should be
available by fall, just in time for pasta season.
In 2014 La Pasta launched two organic products that were sold exclusively to various Costco
regions: Organic Pumpkin Ravioli and Organic Mushroom Ravioli. These items are sold in 30 oz.
saddle-packs. The Organic Pumpkin Ravioli was a seasonal item and was discontinued in
December; meanwhile the Organic Mushroom Ravioli continues to sell in a handful of stores.
The creation of an organic line for all of La Pasta’s customers has been a slow process due to
scarcity of organic ingredients and La Pasta’s fresh vegetable policy. Of the limited organic
ingredients found, many did not guarantee availability year-round.
The full line-up has not yet been released, though La Pasta will be displaying a few of the items at
their booth #1671 at the Fancy Food Show in New York City. These items include Organic Sweet
Potato, Quinoa & Kale Ravioli and Organic Root Vegetable Ravioli, among others. They are
displayed with a green label.
La Pasta prides itself to manufacture innovative products that incorporate the latest health trends.
They began this progression with a line of gluten free and vegan pastas. A few months following,
they introduced a handful of raviolis that contained “super foods” such as quinoa, beet and kale.
Organic is their latest project.
La Pasta tries to communicate that pasta can be healthy if eaten correctly. It uses only hormonefree dairy products and ingredients that are not genetically modified. Additionally, it produces a
thin pasta and thick filling; takes great effort to use fresh and whole vegetables in its stuffing,
rather than the powder, canned, or puree alternatives; and creates healthful recipes.
