Announcements:
Ward Choir Practice begins today, October 11th! We will meet each week (except fast
Sunday) at 2:15 p.m. in the chapel. Please join us to learn holiday music. Youth are
invited.
Young Women in Excellence is scheduled Tuesday, October 13th at 7:00 p.m. in the
Primary Room. All Young Women and their parents are invited.
In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the 'The Family: A Proclamation to the World'
and in conjunction with the World Congress of Families, Gathering Families invites
families, neighbors, and community groups to participate in 'Family Lights the World'
event on Monday October 26th at 7:30 p.m. For more information and a sample FHE
lesson go to GatheringFamilies.com and see how your family can let their ‘light shine!’
Mark you calendars for the Annual Ward Harvest Party Tuesday, October 27th
Stake Auxiliary Training will be held Wednesday, November 4th, at 7 p.m. at the Stake
Center.
Family History: Your Journey of Discovery: Saturday, November 21, 2015 from 10
a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ammon Foothills Stake Center; A day of discovering YOUR family
WITH your family.
If you have an interest in family history and would like to volunteer at the Stake
Discovery Day on November 21, please contact Dorothy Kennedy by October 18th, 5218224. Anyone over 12 years of age is welcome.

IDAHO FALLS AREA HUMANITARIAN CENTER (IFAHC): The following items are
needed: onesies 0-3 month, VO5 2 in 1 Shampoo, bright colored yarns (please buy 3
skeins with the same dye lot number), Tole Painting brushes for painting wooden toys,
bleach, and laundry detergent. The center is in need of people who can sew on
Wednesdays. The Humanitarian Center is open from 10 a.m. 3 p.m., Tuesday &
Wednesday. Also the 1st and 3rd Tuesday from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. If you have any

IDAHO FALLS TEMPLE VISITOR CENTER – UPCOMING EVENTS
FOR OCTOBER:
*Come to the Idaho Falls Temple Visitors' Center and participate in our Monday and
Tuesday evening rotations. It is a wonderful opportunity for a spiritual FHE or a YM/YW
activity.

with Brother Dee Johnson and Sister Christine Johnson for a spiritual presentation
regarding the temple.

Community Needs
The Boy Scouts of America will be holding their annual Scouting for Food event on
October 17th. Please have your donations on your doorstep by 9am. According to the
Food Bank, you can donate food that is past its expiration date by one year, so check your
food storage and cupboards and give generously.
Idaho Falls Stake members will serve in the Soup Kitchen. Contact your Stake Public
Affairs Director Scott Tomlinson to volunteer.
The Idaho Falls Area Humanitarian Center at 1415 Northgate Mile is open every
Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. It is also open the 1st and 3rd
Tuesday evenings (6:30 – 8:30) each month. To schedule groups, contact Mozelle at 5292357.
Catching the Spirit of Public Affairs
The Temple Visitors’ Center is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day Monday through
Sunday. It is a great place to bring friends and family. Now showing: “Because He

The Red Cross is looking for volunteers to assist with their Pillow Case Project. They
need people willing to teach children about emergency preparedness in classroom
settings and other places.
They are also looking for people to evaluate buildings that may be used as emergency
shelters, and other volunteers to assist with disaster assessments. Please call Rusty
Devereaux, our local Disaster Program Manager, at 208-220-7311.
Upcoming Events
The Special Needs Adult Program (SNAP) will resume on Monday, September 14!
SNAP is a wonderful program available to those in our region, 18 years and older, with
special needs. We have lessons three days a month and a fun party or activity the other
Monday of the month. The south SNAP meets each Monday at 4:00-5:15 at the Central
Stake building (2025 Jennie Lee Dr. near Shopko). This is for those who reside in the
Idaho Falls Stakes and South, including Shelley and Firth.
The north SNAP meets at the Ammon North Stake building (4363 E. 17th St) at 4:155:30. The north SNAP region is for those who reside in the Ammon Area and north of
Idaho Falls, including Ucon and Iona.
