On Monday, all students attended a Pep Rally that got all of us excited to learn about the program and our Fun Run. Each day, students are attending a 10-minute “huddle” where they learn about a character trait and how to stay fit! Our culminating event will be our Fun Run on October 22 during the times below: RECC, K – 2: 9:45 – 10:55 3 -5: 11:00 – 12:10 This event is sponsored by our PTA. We are very grateful for the time and energy they are putting into this fun experience for our students. How you can support the Gorman Crossing PTA: Register your student. To log in pledges, please register your child on funrun.com, using our school’s registration code: 426-173. Students receive a FREE GIFT just by having their parent or guardian register them on funrun.com. Reach out to sponsors. Connect with 10 sponsors. You can use social media in the pledging process and even create custom videos—all of this is on funrun.com. Be sure to capture and record each sponsor’s e-mail address. They will also have an easy opportunity to pay for your student’s pledge by credit card online. Ask your child about the BIG WORLD RECESS Character Play of the day! This year’s character theme is BIG WORLD RECESS, a global fitness theme all about playing with more character. Watch the fun videos with your child on funrun.com. Come to the Fun Run on October 22, 2015! All students are invited to participate, regardless of financial participation. Remember, students will be running 30-35 laps, and we would love for you to come out and cheer. If you have any questions about the program, feel free to email the PTA at gcespta@gmail.com Sincerely, Deborah Caldwell, Principal DATES TO REMEMBER Oct 16, 2015 – Professional Work Day – schools closed for Students Oct 30, 2015 - End of Marking Period – schools close 3 hours early.
