March Membership Meeting Summary This was the last of the scheduled monthly Membership meetings, however with the number of open business items remaining the Executive Officers will schedule an additional meeting for April. Club Dues Club dues stay the same for 2015 as they were for 2014. This includes private boat storage. Dues must be paid by April 1st. You do not row until after you pay. Registration is now available for the 2015/16 year through the website. Trustee’s Report Laurel Odronic reported for the Trustees. This group is currently focused on three items: Understanding our finances and budget to better discuss both finance strategy and the proposed development plan. o Any questions or concerns should be directed to Mary Drennan, Susan Hart or Patrick Baum. Format of the Speakmon Regatta. o Concerned members asked the Trustees to consider adding Junior events back to the Speakmon Regatta. The Trustees have recommended that these events be added for the 2015 Speakmon Regatta in order to generate more revenue, improve visibility and potential for community partnerships, as well as making the event more vibrant. o A larger event will require larger overhead costs, but changes made to the Speakmon race course in the past year have reduced expenses significantly. o We need to reach out to other clubs to increase registration for Speakmon, especially Westerville. They may be having their Regatta on the Sunday after Speakmon instead of the same Saturday. It would be ideal to promote the two events to high schools in the surrounding area. New membership class for the club: Adaptive Member. o Adding membership classification requires changes to the By Laws. o Written notice will be sent to the membership describing the proposed changes and the scheduled meeting date at least 10 days in advance of voting. Members were asked to direct any suggestions and comments to Trustees quickly as that group is meeting early next week. Treasurer’s report Patrick reviewed the expenses from the past month, and projected our income and expenses for the upcoming year. The financial statement for the Arnold Indoor Rowing Classic was shared with the group. We made a profit which we will split with Dublin Crew, our portion of the profit was $355.29. The feedback on this event was very positive, and is expected to be larger and more profitable next year. Current account balances o Checking -$90,551.59 o Savings 1 - $5,596.57 o Savings 2 -$11,577.84 o Schwab 1 - $28,670.10 o Schwab2 - $29,694.36 Reminder to send in your request and hours for volunteer reimbursement for 2014. You have until the end of March. Each committee chair should send Patrick Baum any updates to their committee membership so that these can be incorporated into the organizational chart.
