NOTICE OF RACE OPEN IRC CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP REGATTA 2013 - HUS, HSF, ESS 5.-8.July 2013 ORGANIZING AUTHORITY HANGÖ UDDS SEGELSÄLLSKAP RF Vestfjärdsvägen 1, 10900 Hangö, Finland, tel: +358 0400 631314, e-mail: tavling@husrf.fi RULES ISAF RRS The IRC Special Rules and Regulations Yachts participating in the IRC class must be fully compliant with the IRC Rules Parts 1.2 and 3. The organizer preserves the right to require all boats display advertising provided by the event organizer in accordance with ISAF regulation 20. SAFETY AND INSURANCE All participating yachts shall meet the safety regulations of ISAF/SPL-FSF class 3 or equivalent. However, all responsibility for the safety of the boats, the crew's ability and the condition of the safety equipment lies solely on the person in charge for that vessel. Each participating yacht shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of EUR 250.000 for material damage and EUR 500.000 for personal damage. A certified copy of the insurance certificate shall be presented for inspection at the registration at the regatta office no later than 08.00 hours on July 04th, 2013. EQUITABILITY, RATING & RACING CLASSES All participating yachts shall have a valid and IRC rating certificate. The owners/skippers of the yachts shall be members of the Finnish Sailing and Boating Federation, or their national equivalents. Competitors shall provide the organizing authority a copy of their certificate with the registration not later than 08.00 hours on July 04th, 2013. The regatta is part of the Finnish IRC Ranking Series. SCORING IRC scoring systems Appendix A4 Low Point scoring System will be used with the following amendment: the first place gives 0.75 points. The Regatta is designated as a Series under Rule A2. A minimum of 3 completed races is required to constitute a series. If more than 2 inshore races are completed one (inshore) discard will be allowed. If a race is cancelled or abandoned by the Race Committee, the above minimum may be adjusted accordingly. COURSES The starting area of the Offshore Race will be just outside the HSF marina. W/L races will take place at Hangö Regatta course C (North of Russarö island). The exact description of these shall be included in the sailing instructions. PRIZES “IRC Championship Finland" perpetual trophy. Prizes for the overall top finishing yachts are presented according to SPV recommendations. The winner(s) of the Offshore/Coastal race and the best Inshore Yacht(s) are presented special prizes. Other prizes including prizes for individual races and divisional results and line honours may be awarded at the discretion of the Organizing Committee. REGISTRATION & ENTRY FEES Entries should be submitted and entry fees paid by Wednesday, Jun 24th. Entries shall be submitted by email: tavling@husrf.fi. The entry fee of 180 € is to be paid to bank account HUS Andelsbanken, IBAN FI3155498340003862 (554983-43862). Skipper's name, boat registration number (sail number) and name and the regatta must be mentioned in the notices section of the payment. The organizers preserve the right to accept late entries not later than Monday, July 1st at a special late entry fee of 230 €. RIGHT TO USE NAME AND LIKENESS In participating in the Open Finnish IRC Class Championship Regatta any competitor automatically grants the Organizing Authority and the sponsors of the Regatta the right in perpetuity, to make, use and show, from time to time and at their discretion, his/her name and any still or motion pictures and live, taped or film television and other reproductions of him/her without compensation.
