Dual Enrollment Participation Form
Students planning to participate in the spring graduation ceremony must have completed all Dual Enrollment courses to
fulfill all graduation requirements and provide the necessary transcript forty-eight (48) hours before the ceremony.
Students completing graduation requirements through the Dual Enrollment courses in the spring quarter will not be eligible
for the summer graduation ceremony if transcripts are not received 48 hours prior to the ceremony. Additionally, diplomas
may be received when all requirements are met.
Students completing high school graduation requirements by the end of winter quarter will have their final
grades used to determine their class rank. Spring quarter grades will NOT be used to determine class rank
unless official notification from the eligible institution’s registrar is received by the high school on the date
senior grades are due at the high school. Policy IHC provides guidance on consideration for valedictorian or
salutatorian status.
Dual enrolled students shall only take courses from the list approved by the Georgia Department of Education, developed
with input from the University System of Georgia and the Technical College System of Georgia.
Students who enroll in Dual Enrollment programs, but do not participate, fail, or leave before completing that program may
re-enter their local high school if the student is in compliance with the High School Attendance policy (JBD). The student
who is not in compliance with policy JBD has the option of re-entering the local high school at the beginning of the next
semester. Student must notify the high school if his/her full-time status changes or if courses are dropped or
added at any time at the eligible postsecondary institution. Graduation may be affected by changes,
incompletion or failures.
Full-time status equates to a minimum of 12 semester hours (or the full-time quarter hours) per semester. Note:
Students enrolled in MOWR must be full-time; all other programs may be full- or part-time status.
Students must adhere to the policies and procedures of the high school, local school system and State Board of
Education and must specifically meet all state assessment requirements including GHSGT. Students must take
EOCT for any course for which the high school equivalent requires an EOCT.
Tuition, fees and materials are the only expenses that may be funded by the program. The student/parent is responsible
for all costs related to participation in the program, such as books, supplies and food, and must provide their own
transportation.
Students are allowed to participate in high school competitive and other extracurricular events as long as their schedule
can accommodate practice, games, etc. They must meet all requirements established by the Georgia High School
Association and State Board Rule 160-5-1-.18 Competitive Interscholastic Activities Grades 6-12. Conflicts with class
requirements and scheduling could prevent the student from being able to participate. Students cannot participate in
interscholastic activities at the college level.
I have received advisement services and reviewed all information pertaining to Dual Enrollment including names
of eligible institutions, contact persons and approved courses.
I have received and reviewed information about approved academic transferable credit and local and state high
school graduation requirements, as well as procedures for scheduling approved courses between the high
school and the eligible institution. I agree to abide by these rules and understand that failure to adhere to these
rules may jeopardize my graduation. I understand that it is the student’s responsibility to request an official
transcript containing grades for all Dual Enrollment classes to be sent to my high school upon completion of
courses.
